So.....fltplan.com and it's backup fltplan2.com are both down.

Anyone out there have any info on this? Also, anyone know of a competeing site that one could use in it's absense? Am I gonna have to figure out duats? It'd be nice to have something that will give the performance, winds, burn and what not.

Thanks,

1800 WX BRIEF Hurry your boss is waiting, but you have to find one of those cards with the format on back.:crying:

From NBAA Airmail:

I just got off the phone with Fltplan.com and they have had heavy storms which has caused the website to go down. It will HOPEFULLY be up by tomorrow they said.

Just call dispatch...oh never mind.

Sorry. I hope it comes back up soon for ya.

I just signed on to FltPlan.com. It's working again.

I dusted off my DTC DUATS (www.duat.com) sign on and it is still working. They've updated the site and they've got some good features on there - including the new domestic ICAO flight plan format. I ran a comparison between the two sites and they were within 5 minutes and 10 gallons of each other on a flight from KPIE to KCLT. I like FltPlan.com better, but DTC is a good backup.

From www.fltplan2.com main page
NOTICE: On Monday afternoon, FltPlan.com's Computer Center was stuck directly by lightning.
In addition, major thunderstorms took down power lines and internet trunk lines in our area.
All systems were restored by Monday evening, however we are currently working on issues that also caused our backup site, www.fltplan2.com, to go down during this period. (a first in 9 years of operation)
We apologize for the inconvenience caused by this outage and thank you for your understanding.

Holy Cow, a computer DIRECTLY STRUCK by LIGHTNING?!?

That thing must be fried, but I think if I left my computer in a thunderstorm, it would be ruined by the RAIN before it got struck by lightning...

How do you get STUCK by lightning ? Is lightning like a fork ? If it is, then couldn't you just say it got FORKED?

I guess it doesn't matter where you work, when it rains, it pours.
