my land lord is about 60 years old and flew twin otters for years. some 10 years ago he passed the FE turbo jet written. i'm trying to set him up with a 727 FE job.

- could he fly as an FE until's 105 years old, if he has a class 2 medical?

- is his old written result still good and still on file with the FAA?

he hasn't really flown for several years, but the FAR's sound like, if you work for an air carrier (consecutively ?), the FE written doesn't expire (you couldn't be FE on your privately owned 727 2 years after taking the written (unless you've passed the practical)).

thanks

If your landlord has gone two consecutive years without any Air Carrier (135/121/125) flying the written has expired. He would have to take the written and practical test.

Also, If he can pass and hold a Class II medical he can fly until the cows come home as a F/E.
