I posted this deep in another thread, so I'm going to rewrite it.

Do any of you guys know of any Fortune 500 Flt Departments in the New England area. I'm hoping to break into the world of corporate flying, but can't move to NYC, yet.

Thanks for any info. Fly Safe.

Fortune 500 flight departments in the NYC area???
nah....really cant think of any... (???!!!)
are you serious?

CCDiscoB:
You need to be more specific. What area of the NE? State? City? Particular airport? Type of equipment?

There are too many to list.

Info

Check a current NBAA Membership Guide and cross reference against the F500 link I sent you earlier.

There are plenty in the North East. Not sure specifically about New England...

Previous post

Probably find some insurance companies up there...

Don't quote me but when I was in Hartford years ago for the CASS, (Corporate Aviation Safety Seminar), I met an AETNA pilot who was based nearby. He was flying a Falcon 2000 for around 6 figures a year.

Good luck...

yup,
Aetna canned the entire department just recently (contract guys on the S76 only guys left)
too bad......
Im sure the Falcon guys found some work in the area, lots of stuff out there...

Surprised

Gulfstream 200,

NS!! didn't hear about that!! Most of the companies I've worked for use Aetna as our primary health insurer. Any information on why they shut down ops?

Hope its not due to questionable accoundting practices!!

I appreaciate the info but I have to reply to Gulfstream 200.

 Dude, I appreaciate the humor but...I didn't ask about NYC. So you might as well said there are tons of Fortune 500 flight departments in CA too. Nice try.

sorry "dude"
but we will surely help if you get a little more specific!!
to ask what fortune 500 companies are based in New England is a little vague!.....I would guess about 75% of them as a guess....
anyways...
what areas are you looking to work out of???
If you are serious about corporate in the Northeast Its really going to be KTEB or KHPN, hate to tell ya... (Teterboro and Westchester)..
Didnt mean to be a smart A$$....hope I can help at all.

Hey, I'm all for smart a$$ posts. I've posted my share of them.

To narrow the search down, when I say New England, I really mean MA, CT, and RI. Boston area ideally.

Thanks

Pick up the NBAA giude, it will give you all companies at every airport in your area, with contact names, etc...

Boston is a tough area...

Sometimes see ads for MassMutual out of KBED, but its an ad you see a lot so how good can the job be?
KBDL has United Technology with a few planes and S76's..
Dont know anything in Rhode Island..
TYCO was in Portsmouth I believe (WAS i repeat...sad)
TAG Aviation has a few aircraft in Portsmouth and Nashua and a CL601 or CL604 in KBED, maybe send them a resume...

good luck, like I said 99% of the iron is in KHPN and KTEB, I do know guys who live in Mass and NH who commute to KHPN for corporate jobs, its a long drive but at a good job with somewhat of a schedule its not too bad they say.

hope that helps a little!!!!

Conn.
Campbell Soup
Bombardier
Cigna
The Whitewind Co.
Key Air
Union Carbide Corp.
Mass.

Liberty Mutual
Ratheon
Reebok

It's Liberty Mutual out of BED and I won't comment.

It's real tought up in NH, MA and CT. Best bet is TEB or HPN and commute.

Aetna closed their flight dept. and went with Netjets. "To have more access to aircraft and save close to $30 million per year" was the quote I read. The grass is always greener...........

OH YEAH,
Liberty Mutual out of KBED...my mistake!
and yes....from what I heard also
NO COMMENT!!!

thats exactly what I have heard, but thats here-say mostly.
industry gossip ya know....
take it for what its worth...
could be a great job and all those guys could have been wrong...
who knows...

I'm looking for what many are looking for, excellent company, large aircraft, international. Similar to what's been written here by successful corporate pilots.

I looked up the company websites you sent me. No mention of any flight departments, so I need to do more detective work. Any ideas? Do you have any idea what equipment and where based for Reebok. I know Raytheon is out of BED, but I never see their ACFT.

Thanks

I'm too cheap to get the NBAA guide. Perhaps I should, heck I pay for AEPS

Go to faa registry

click on Civil Aircraft Registry then click on interactive aircraft inquiry site.

You can search by company name, aircraft type, N# etc.
