I have a good chance at a job flying for Florida Jet out of FXE in Fort Lauderdale. I don't know how well known this company is, but if anyone has any information that would be great. I am going for F/O in the LR-55. Thanks in advance for the help!

Dont know about charter ops, but they love to advetise airplanes with equipment / upgrades they dont have. when you call them on it they say "oh,,it's scheduled to be done" . Kinda leaves a question in my mind. If you look at there ads, the things they really dont have, but need, are in red

I had a friend/equaintance work for them. They were greatful to get some turbine time, however it came at a price. They have since left.

You will find yourself grunting a lot, because that's what you will be. You won't get paid much (can't remember pay now). Keep in mind the cost of living there.

You are expected to clean, wash, polish, answer phones, etc. etc. etc.......Your days will be long, filled with non flying duties. The flying will come, but very slowly, only on empty legs (part 91).

To defend the company....the owner WILL try to talk you out of working for him because it is such a demanding job, and he want's to make sure you really want it. It is my understanding that it is a highly respected 135 operator (from a customer standpoint).

I too was actively persuing a FO position there. Thankfully, I found a job elsewhere, where I am treated with dignity, paid well, don't walk around with a mop and bucket and am appreciated.

Thanks for the info. Yeah i went in for a couple of days and the owner, F/Os and captains talked to me and showed me how they worked. We cleaned planes and all of that. It looks to be a very tough job. But for someone with the hours I have it is hard to turn down multi turbine with a good chance of upgrade, even at the cost of a lot of work. Still waiting to hear whether I got it or not, but I am optimistic. We'll see what happens. Thanks again for the info!

I appreaciate your enthusiasm! While I was talking to him, I was also extremly excited, and didn't really care what my duties were as long as I would get some turbine time.

Turns out, there are GOOD jobs out there for low time pilots (including those with 800 hours). I am proof!

well done amigo, sounds like you've got the inside track. plenty of people out there that dont get those kinds of opportunities till down the road. you've bviously asked the right questions to the right people. good luck with the gig and let the world know how it goes.
