If I was in your position I would do the same. But, my previous post was intended for the original poster. Sorry that I didnt make that clear. Good luck in whatever you choose to do. It is a shame to see such talent (Flops pilots in general) wasted and not appreciated.I appreciate that, but I'm not willing to be the last one to turn the lights out, and be waiting in the back of the interviewing line. I have to do what's best for my family in the long run. In my opinion, I would rather be a co-pilot at NJ making about the same amount of money that I am now as a captain, with less responsibilities and working less (due to their higher dispatch-ability), and a nearly guaranteed future. I don't know when or if I would get an interview due to the huge stack that I hear they have, but baring any radical changes here, it just makes sense to bail on my terms if I get the opportunity, and not risk being in an unemployment line with 500 other pilots at the same time.
Now that they are interviewing, has anyone got the latest on the interviews? I see the last one was dated Sept '05.
Why would you even consider FLOPS? So, you are really aiming high, aren't you? FLOPS is considered the WORST fractional for many reasons. Evidently, you're too lazy to read the many, many posts about the downhill slide at FLOPS.
Go ahead, enjoy the Beechjunk for the next 10 years as a FO. Sure, the Phenoms will arrive but you won't touch them for a long time. The fact that you are even considering FLOPS given their current deteriorating situation (when much better fractional options exist) shows they are, in fact, already lowering their standards...
