How does the domicile system work there?

Are you just hired into which ever one the company sees fit or do you get to bid for one or what?

How likely would it be for a new hire to get BNA?

Do you have to live with in a certain time of base?

Thanks for the info.

I think someone was hired in BNA, a little bit ago. He was on here asking if anyone else was based in BNA, search and PM him.

BNA based..

I'm a new hire that's based in BNA. If you get called for an interview you can take any tier 1 base, well, any of the ones listed on the web site. I wanted BNA because I live here. There was never any problem me telling them when I applied that I wanted to be based here. Good luck...

Dime line will appreciate this: if you come over, send in your card :)

Thanks for the info.

Is there a certain call out, i.e must live within 90 minutes of base or something like that?

Wow - you're a newhire and you're already looking for union support... That should send a message to potential hires out there. I really think that FLOPS with NJA or near-NJA wages would be a great place - let's hope management sees the light...

From what I gather there is not an official time or distance that you have to live from the airport. As long as you can make your flights your good to go. I believe they give you a two hour callout and your duty time starts 90 mins before the flight leaves. BTW, word is that hiring is going to stop for awhile. That's what we heard from some of the guys while we were in training....

Flydog, thanks for the responses. I am just trying to figure out my options. I live in a suburb of Memphis and about 2.5 hours from BNA. I am about to be furloughed and am hoping to find an gig that will keep me from having to commute, even though 2.5 hours is quite a drive.
