Livin the dream....just livin the dream, as far as you rebuck you FNG, put some time in before you start acting like you know anything. Time to do the cleveland carpet dance!!! Great 1st post though!!!!!!

Let me guess...probably large cabin guys...had one lecture me in the crew van in MCC about the aviation industry. Real class, that one.

ETA: Our owners aren't "genuinely happy to be here" either. About every other leg begins or ends with a rant about the company, or some exasperated question, like, why are they ferrying you guys two and half hours when we fly out of here in three hours?

The management team is putting the torch to this place.

Flops can burn to the ground

I wouldnt even take a leak on them right now to put the fire out. Flops' management had better shape up quickly, or ship out. Either one is ok by me.

I am yet to meet a FLOPS pilot that doesn't hate his job, or his life in it's current state for that matter.

Hey guys, be careful with your new union. Don't make FLOPS die any faster than it already is. I'm not trying to school anyone, just sayin don't turn a bad situation into worse one. At least you're still employed.

FLOPS is going to live or die regardless of what the union does...that is in management hands. It is only in their power to fix the problem. I've stopped subsidizing the travel of the richest 1/4 of 1% of Americans. If the Management team wants cheap, then cheap they'll get.

I listened to a large cabin guy say STFD this week. I was in shock. OCC is in disarray, and the maintenance guys are starting to revolt. Only one man is to blame. Hint: he isn't a pilot.

It was during a personal conversation in APA. Mostly he was tired of being jacked around by management. Many people have invested their entire working lives at FLOPS. Some were Corporate Wings guys from back in the day. They just can't believe how things have changed. I see this as your standard Mark 2, Mod 0 negotiation campaign. Its frustrating to me bacause Management is playing with fire. The company can go hardball all they want, be we're not Northwest or even NetJets. When we lose owners, I'm afraid its for good. The management team/legal team mostly hail from an airline background, so they think they'll roll hard on us, and after the contract is signed, then it will be sweetness and light again. That's usually how it is in the 121 world. I just don't think it will play out like that here.

I've had TWO different owners say "I share your frustration, this is my sixth messed up trip" and "you guys seem frustrated" during this last rotation. There was a time when I toed the party line. I tried to put a positive spin on the mistakes company made. Not anymore. I won't lie for County. I tell the owners the facts, and they are not in dispute.

I am under no obligation to lie to an owner. The threatened layoffs, the no notice shutdowns of mx bases, insurance rate hikes, loss of per diem, etc. are in the public domain.

It is very easy to have a no notice shut down of a mx base when all of the mechanics just leave. Management didn't even have notice. Which startup airline did they all go to? I know it was in Colorado or somewhere out west.

During the NJ contract battle there were consistently two types that kept trying to drag down the group--the very selfish and the very fearful. When I read comments like "At least you're still employed" it all comes back to me. My advice--cover your eyes...;) Block it out and carry on!

TWA, yes the Flt Ops pilots are angry right now and they have every right to be. Personally, I love reading their angry posts. It means they have a sense of self-worth and the courage to stand up for themselves and their families. They are doing their jobs right. If there are problems, it lies with management--not pilots. It's wrong to expect the pilots and their families to bear the brunt of managers' mistakes.

There is also a lot of good happening for the Options pilots. They've come far and they're staying in the fight. Their camaraderie is developing and they can take pride in the stand they're making for the profession. On the board there are now calls for Flex pilots to turn in their cards. Options' fight has given hope to other pilots. That is evidence they're right on track.

Some complimentary words of encouragement for Flt Ops Pilots...:)
Those irrationally disgusted need not look. It's not for you, anyway...
