My friend is transitioning to a Meridian and he was wondering about Flightwatch frequencies above 18K, the normal freqs are only published up to 18K, are there any other frequencies and where are they published?

Check on the the Jepp High altitude chart on the frequency notes for each ATC center. The very last freq in bold will be the high altitude freq. for that particular center. Use that freq for each center that you are talking you.

Hope that helps.

If you are not already using it, FltPlan.com is awesome for many reasons; one of which is the FSS freqs listed down the right hand collum of the flight plan summary page.

Also, an FSS in Jackson County Tennessee gave me a map of the US once that has all the high alt freqs on it. It was something they had made up on their computer I think. Your FSS might be able to do it too...

You can find it inside the back cover of an AFD, but that will only show the region you are in. Also, you can look in the very last pages of an ac-u-qwik, which if you don't have you should get, it's the greatest refererance to carry in the airplane.

Like a previous post mentioned, the FltPlan.com navlog sheet will include the freq.'s along with everything else you could possibly need to know about the route of flight. I think Fltplan.com should get a JD Power and Associates award for most innovative new aviation product. I love 'em!!!!!!!!!
