I have FlightLevel 2000 and would like to convert my times to the Logbook Pro software. Anyone know a "step-by-step" formula for doing this without losing my flight time. I'm not very computer literate, so please, keep it simple.

Thanks!

My reasoning for this is I have a Palm now and would like to be able to use the airlinelogbook.com software for my PDA and be able to hotsynch it to my desktop. From what I understand, that PDA software works better with Logbook Pro.

Please help!

Yes, you can IMPORT your FlightLevel data easily.

Go to http://www.logbookpro.com/forums then go to the Support Forum and you'll see a thread at the top "Former FlightLevel Users"

If you contact NC Software they can also assist, they did my data for me once I registered the product.

logbook

Logbook pro makes it very easy to copy your data from Flight Level. Just go to their site http://www.logbookpro.com and you will find out what needs to be done. Also, Neal....the owner of logbookpro is extremely good at customer service and will be able to help you with the transfer if you have trouble.

pm me if you need anything else.

So which is best

If you have both a Palm and a Windows PDA (Don't ask!), which logbook program is best?

One of my FO's showed me how his worked, and it looked really easy. He could download his schedule and just insert the times, I think.

I've heard good things about both "http://www.airlinelogbook.net/" and "http://www.logbookpro.com/" - which is better?

Sniper:

I have had logbook Pro for a very loong time and never had a problem with it. I recently got a Palm T-3 and purchased Neal's PDA software for it. So far. it's been a breeze to use. However, the PDA software is mainly for generic logbook entry's and will not keep track of your duty times, crew rest issue's. etc etc. It does a great time logging your time, but if you fly 121, then you also need to use the below program with it.

Airlinelogbook is then what you will want to use. I had it on my palm for a week, but was having a very hard time trying to get the Schedule importer on their website to work with our company's PDF schedules. I have emailed the owner, but he has yet to get back to me on this. From what I got to use, it worked great and I'm looking forward to these guys finding a solution to our importer problem.

Thanks! That's exactly the info I wanted, the duty and rest stuff. I hate trying to 'look back' in my little red book when in discussions with my dispatch and tracking dept.

What's the best PDA to use with airlinelogbook and logbookpro? I'm thinking of buying one but I know nothing about them. I'd like to be able to surf the internet while on the road.

I'm trying to decide if the pocketpc version of Logbook pro with worth it, or just keep the desktop version...

Well, if you want to surf the internet, I'd think the 'Tungston C' which has built-in 802.11b (wifi) would be great with airlinelogbook. Just hook up one of those foldable keyboard things and you're good to go.

I've also heard there is a sprint phone out there that was made for about 2-3 months (April-June 2003 or so) that has a glitch in in allowing you to surf the internet for free by using the infared port on the phone to beam the infared to the computer. Might be worth looking into. If you find anything on it, PM me. I've been looking for the darn thing for months!
