I'm going to start taking flying lessons and was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on flight training in the mpls/st. paul area.

So far I have visited Crystal Shamrock at the Crystal airport and Thunderbird Aviation at Flying Cloud. I am leaning towards Shamrock but wanted to hear some other opinions before making a decision.

Crystal Shamrock

I am currently working on my Instrument Rating at Crystal Shamrock and am very happy with their program. I just recently earned my PPL there as well. Feel free to e-mail me with any questions you may have.

I'm almost done with my PPL at Thunderbird. They're very professional, the planes are maintained fairly well, and the online reservation system is a big plus.

The part 141 instruction is great, and I feel that I learned a lot of extra useful things in addition to just the minimum requirements.
