Hello All!

I'm considering starting flight training this summer as I will have a relatively easy class load at UVa. Does anyone have any experience with training out of CHO / Charlottesville Airport? Thanks for any advice or pointers!

Regards,
Dan

Hi

I did most of my training at Blue Ridge Flight Center while I was at Virginia as an undergrad. I also instructed there my fourth year. I believe it has actually changed ownership since then and is now called Albemarle Flight School. Good folks over there...very affordable and good instructors. Look em up on the web (don't know the site for sure...just do a search). Good luck.

I got all of my private training at the Blue Ridge Flight Center in the summer of 1999.

Charlottesville is a great airport to learn to fly at, not to busy but still has a control tower. The instructors then were great, haven't visited recently though. Instruction is at your own pace, and if you're motivated it takes around 50 hours to get done with your private. Not so bad in cost as long as you stay with a 152.
