From what I hear, UVSC has a pretty good program. My school here has started promoting them, and encurage them as a ERAU alternative. My CFI went out there to check it out, he was really impressed, and he's ERAU alumni.

I'm a college student at UVSC; I think the flight school is okay, but a lot of the CFIs are pathetic. And Provo without the tower yet is downright dangerous when all of UVSC's Katana’s are in the pattern. I went up to OK3 air in Heber city to do my training, best choice I ever made. And you can still do the degree at UVSC. OK3 has a hub in Heber city, SLC, Ogden, & Logan. If you go by SLC ask for Thorn, tell him Jeremy sent you. If you go to Heber fly with Jim, he's by far the best most caring CFI i've ever had.

Well if he is an ERAU alum, then by all means he most know his stuff!!!!

I have a friend up north who's always complaining about the Katanas. Apparently the pilots who fly them are downright stupid and dangerous, always cutting people off, not announcing positions, flying oddball patterns, etc. Less than a year ago, a plane with three UVSC CFIs (*I think*--correct me if I'm wrong) crashed, killing the three, while on a cross country. The investigators later found that they had been logging hours they didn't actually fly. I'm sure there are good CFIs there, however. But from what I've heard and who I've talked to, it's a crappy program.
