^^^Sounds awful.
FYI just left ICT. The 680 had some things fixed. We usually stay at the Airport Hilton, however, for the first time the service wasn't worth a $%^&, and the room smelled like cat urine/cigarette smoke. Won't be staying there again.
I've been going to FSI at ICT for 4 years. Used to stay at Candlewood Suites until too many construction workers started making that they're home. Moved across I35 to the Embassy Suites (or some Marriott chain) and have enjoyed it ever since. Free breakfast and clean/quiet rooms every time. Also, it only takes 5 min's to get to FSI and there's a great restaurant called Granite City down the street (on the way to/from). Went there with a couple of guys from recurrent and tried a martini called "Anti-freeze". And I second the sushi place in Old Town, but I can't for the life of me recall the name.
Speaking of FSI, have ya'll seen the front desk hotties lately? Sweet mother of Jesus! The little girl that is facing away from the main entrance has to be an 8 or 9!
This Hawker recurrent is so much better than Houston.
Just up the road from Beech FSI on Webb Rd. is P.F. Changs, Abuelos (Tex-Mex). Another great steak place is "The Chop House" (on Webb Rd.), but very pricey!
The Missus and I ate at Granite City Brewery (that pat mentioned) yesterday for the first time and it was really nice. I only wish I wasn't on duty so I could've tried some of their home-brews...they looked really good. BTW, is there more than one Granite City in ICT? We never get to the east side much; we went to the one on 21st/Maize in NW ICT.
I just got back from FSI as well. A couple of recommendations:
1) Homewood Suites on 13th and Webb. My rate was $99. You can't beat it. Nice new hotel. Good restaurants nearby. Very good experience.
2) Sumo's is good. Also good is Kwan Court on Rock.
3) A very nice place (after you passed) is YaYa's on 21st. Awesome food. Great atmosphere and they must get their hostesses from the same place FSI gets their receptionists. Wow.
Ha, I am staying at the Hilton now..my only problem is the walls are thin. Can hear the tv next door very well.
Funny thing is, when I got in the elevator after class today, some older (not attractive) chick with an FSI bag and a slutty stewardess outfit on got in the elevator. She asked me if I was going to the cocktail party in the Aviators Club. Ha, she was wearing a nametag that said, "Mile High Captain" I am still trying to figure that one out!
