Does anybody out there know of some flight planning software to download for free to do IFR flight planning. I'm talking about finding routes, arrivals, deperatures. Offline. Also would be looking to download the IFR high altitude preferred routes from a location. If anyone has any info it would be appreciated.

Thanks.

My flight planning website is http://www.fltplan.com

This is a great online website, and it is free. You do need to sign up with a username and password, but it only takes a few minutes. I'm pretty sure that it has all the info you are looking for, and then some. I have never had a lost flight plan due to this website. A lot of corporate guys are using it, so give it a try.

if you want an excel document with all the pref. routes Click here

have fun, i didn't try printing this out as it is pretty long, however it is on my palm pilot which makes it easy to reference when on the road.
