I thought they were going under?

That's a bit premature. They have stopped hiring and they are shrinking the fleet somewhat from what I have heard - but they are not going under (for at least the time being). FLOPS could eventually be sold to a private equity firm though - you never know.

No, were still here, playing lovely management games, O'l Mikee is still trying to learn how to run a company

yep, we're still here
shawn is nickel and diming everything pilots touch.
but things could be worse, we could still be flying charter

We practically are charter at this point. I had our aircraft towed off the line the other day because the paint was so bad. The interior wasn't much better.

Plus our management's unique concepts regarding the FARs and crew duty.

It's masterbatory fantasy to think anyone would buy us. Shrinking crew meals, and you have to fight for those. Day 8 travel sucks.

Plus they just announced that there is no charge of a tenth on the front and back end of the flight. Now times are calculated at wheels up to wheels down. On top of that discounts in the hourly fees are being offered for flights over 2.5 hours..

In my opinion they cut their own throats!! Take the only two real sources of guaranteed revenue i.e. the .1 for taxi on each end.. Plus consider that the plane on long trips is more profitable due to decreased fuel burns, no additional cycles etc and eliminiate that! These attempts to generate new business are last ditch efforts. Flops has the worst resale figures in the industry and the owners know it.. That is why they are leaving the program. We all knew $hitringa would destroy the company and it looks like he is on track.

They lost $114,000,000 million in 2005!! Flops is going down faster than a senior prom date and if you are dumb enough to sit around and wait for it you will be on your butt without a job..

Sounds desparate to me... No new aircraft coming on line (beyond a few Legacies and older Xs I guess - which are replacement aircraft) either. I would be looking elsewhere - Netjets and Flex are hiring.

Pretty ignorant statement. I left Options after four years for a charter job. Pay raise, gone half as much, incredible increase in quality of life, the list goes on. It doesn't take much anymore to find a job better than Flight Options!!

I just feel bad for all my buddies that are still there. I hope they have the foresight to find a replacement job asap.. Flops is goin down and anybody that thinks that netjets is going to buy out flops is truly blind
