Past the 10% that most of the furloughed guys won't see at all, it looks like a majority will be getting a paycut to the old payscale. How is this not considered a paycut?
This questions has been on the union web site for days ibt1108 skips over it and choose not to respond.

but this is what they think.
PILOT
How many red circled pilots do you expect to have? Sorry to keep bringing it up, but how did the F/O payscale come to allow lower pay on the new system when compared to the old?

Do you know if there is any hope for recall for those of us deeper into the furlough list? Or are we looking at "about" 5 years until recall? I'm sure the company has some idea as to their crewing and probably projected it out to some extent.

IBT1108
The F/O payscale is relative to the Captain scale. Typically in the avaition industry the F/O's are paid 67% to 68% of Captains. In our current situation at Flight Options, pending which way you want to view it, our Captains were underpaid or First Officers were overpaid. The payscales you see in the agreement, reflect normalizing the scale. The new scales put the F/O's making around 67.8% of Captains going forward after Jan. 1st 2011. I know what you are thinking and I agree, we wish we could bring the Captain scales up and the F/O scale would follow, but there is not enough money in the bucket to do such a thing at this time.

I do not know how many will be red circled or when the company will recall, so I cannot give you any accurate numbers.

ME
IF this is how the union thinks of its first officers i think this is wrong get your raise from the company or merit but don't steal it from me i hope they vote you off the property.

IS this the UNION way?

YOU SHOULD LET PILOTS KNOW YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT CAPTAIN.

I would rather take the pay scale that was offered by our old ceo and keep the work rule we have right now.

maybe management should take a pay cut so others can at least live. I mean do you really need a minimum of $500,000 per year as a failed manager to survive?

thats funny right there

yes there is. there is plenty, they just choose to keep it all for themselves. If you think that's bad, go look at the golden parachutes.

Not try to start crap, but how long has the most junior FO been there? Hough many have been there less than 5 yrs? thanks

It doesn't look like it is going to pass. More guys are are seeing details and they don't look pretty.

Between the furloughed guys and FO's they could swing it to a solid NO by themselves.

The FO's, former Captains who will now hold an FO seat and furloughed pilots will all lose out big on the contract as written. Personally, I don't think that the company cares and would rather hire pilots off the street at year 1 SIC pay. The only winners are the senior guys in the larger aircraft, and even they will still be way behind the rest of the industry. Most of them aren't MIGS anyways, so I'll be surprised if this thing passes.

I think its going to pass, since people arent going to want to wait another 2-3 years. We will never get released for self help, with how things are written in the contract.

Well, when you become personally invested in the company, then you may be compensated as such...
