Just wondering if there is a training contract at Options. If so, how long? Is it prorated? How far from your domicle can you live?

Thanks

Just do yourself a favor, go fly at a regional or NetJets. If you don't have the Netjets time, then go to a regional and get it, then apply to Netjets

I just heard that they are not making new hires sign a contract. However if current pilots change airplanes they are making them sign one.

As far as domicle I do not know.

I agree with the others....find a better route to go. Turmoil is the soup of the day here..served everyday in big bowls. I dont know much about new hire contracts but I do know for a fact that they make current employees sign one when the go to a new type, so I am sure they make new hires do. I do hear of some cases where they forget to have you sign it before you go to training then when they are on the road they are approached and they flat out refuse to sign it after the fact. As for the domicile question..When I was kicked out of my tier 3 I was told I had to move within 1 hr drive to my new domicile. However, and sadly I can not reccomend FLOPS to anyone regardless of your total time. Dont risk you FAA ticket here. Go somewhere safe like NJ or CS. They seem to either treat thier employees right or just have a contract that forces that to happen.
Good luck on your search.
Galaxy-working a crappy job so that YOU dont have to...

No Contracts at FLOPS

There are no contracts at FLOPS. Only commitments on the pilot's part. A contract would imply that each party live up to their part of an agreement. Pilots sign all sorts of stuff, including training obligations. Management signs nothing.

Wow!

Successfully scared away. Thanks for the info. I think I'll leave the industry rather than start over at a regional.

Found on Raytheon's website. Looks like they own 100% now boys and girls.

I talked with someone else about this. There is some sort of employment law in Ohio, that employers can not enforce a emloyment contract. I am not sure if it is state to state or across a federal law. I have heard from a friend that the law is the same in FL. The biggest concern you would have breaking a contract and not paying up, is using them as a reference.

Well by law they are only allowed to say if you worked there and the dates. They can not talk bad about you at all.

Assuming one has done the proper research, why anyone would chose to go to FLOPS instead of NJ or CS at this point in time is beyond me. It's a big roll of the dice for a lot less pay.
