Does anyone know of a good flight school in central NJ that will be hiring instructors this coming May?

I worked here. No twins, no advancement to charter unless you got on your knees and were middle-aged. I'd advise against doing it. Several CFI's there ended up PFT'ing down at gulfstream. It's crazy teaching pre-solo students about GATE HOLD at a class D...

I will say one thing though - by working there I made some excellent connections that will help me the rest of my life....

FYI, Lincoln Park was a very nice small-town airport. I'd advise against wagner aviation, but the other FBO on the field was picture perfect - I believe it was Lincoln Park Aviation.

Do a seach on www.private2atp.com for flight schools and airports - that's what I did.

I actually held two different CFI jobs in Central Jersey. The first one was with garrett aviation at monmouth airport. By far the worst cfi job there is. the circa 1960 150 and warriors they have are the worst plus your salary is $600/month. (barely enough for a studio rent in NJ let alone anything else). after doing that for a few months, i got a job old bridge airport (3n6) with mj-air flight school. airplanes werent the greatest but the owner was willing to invest in them. on average from last april-oct, i flew 100 hours a month with students and also doing the traffic watch in nyc.i actually had your TT of 420 this time last year and now ive got my atp. the owner there is pretty cool and the pay scale isn't that bad(i would make roughly $1000 every two weeks). i would recommend mj-air very highly, very fun place to work and hang out. as far as other schools, stay away from northeast aviation(n87, 3n6, pne) and eagle view(3n6). I did hear that the school in toms river(mjx) was pretty good though also. hope this helps.

I'd second SBJ, solberg. Nice area, good student base, don't know them personaly but I've been flying in the area sice I was 15 and never herd anything bad about them. I used to instruct at TTN for MCCC. Not sure where your located in NJ, but at PNE there are several schools and also south jersey area.

There are plenty of flight schools in eastern, PA and Central NJ. Let us know some more details about where you located and I may be able to help some more.

I currently live in old bridge.... also, thanks to everyone who posted to help me out....keep the info coming if possible... thanks again
