Good company, min pay is $75 per day, and be prepared to spend a long time in the C210. The Baron guys are going to retire in the Baron's which means you'll retire in the C210.
Maybe when things start to move again upgrades will speed up.

Flight Express is a good company with a good reputation. I worked there for a little over six months. I appreciated their detailed attention to maintenance......among the best in the industry by far.
All company higher-ups are great people too! Great pay and benefits and a good place to build some quality experience.
Sometimes I really miss that single-pilot flying at 4am!
Good luck!

I've been working here for about a month and it's been great. The pay is decent, the planes are in good shape, the maintenance is good, and the flying is fun. Way better than CFIing!!

Been here a year--still in the C210. By talking to guys flying the fractionals or regionals (Big planes with radar and autopilot), I've discovered that this is some of the best experience on the market. Single pilot, Part 135, no radar, no stormscope, no autopilot, hand-flying through all types of weather, seem to get (or gain) a lot of respect from the guys that fly with all the luxuries.

Maint. is good. ANY squawks get taken care of right away. That was one reason I turned down a couple of other jobs before getting on with Flight Express. That's right!! I TURNED DOWN A COUPLE OF JOBS IN AVIATION!! Burning in because of crappy maintanence is not an option for me. My family means too much. I know jobs are tough to come by, but you have to have priorities.

Some of the planes have over 16,000 hours on them, but all the inspections are always current. They are like an old pair of shoes. The ones that look all ragged out are the ones that fit the best.

Good luck!

I agree, good mx, good pay for what we do. I've been here 18 months, and I have also gotten a lot of respect from pilots I talk to for freight doggin' instead of PFT or whatever. As for the guys in the Baron, there are some that are content to stay here, but many of us are sending out resumes and trying to go 121 or corporate. The competition is FIERCE right now. With so much turbine experience out there looking for jobs we're just not getting called. I wish we had some turbine equipment to move into. Thats the next catch 22..."we need you to have some turbine experience before we'll hire you" Anyway if you've been on this board much at all, you'll see my other posts about being happy here at Fright Express. I'ts got some problems as any company does, but overall I like it here and I will continue to hang out until things get better. Hopefully soon.

Jeff

Thanks for your replies guys.

It says a lot for the company that you all, without exception, have good things to say. Couple of other questions, what is a reasonable monthly amount I could take home flying the 210 and secondly what kind of interview process is it.

thanks

The pay is based on how long your duty day is, so it depends. They pay you per duty hor so if you have a 13 hour duty day, you will make $130. They also give you raises with seniority so it is actually pretty good. As for the interview, I am not really sure how that is working now. I think it is just a sim ride on an Elite or something. Great people to work for, good organization, they just want guys who can fly instruments and are very dependable.

Good Luck

Minimum daily pay is $75/day. Anything over 7.5 hours is paid at $10/duty hour. If you have a 10 hour duty day you make $100, even if your flight time is 2 hours--which I don't think we have one that short. My day is 11 hours and I fly about 6.5 hours/day. Turnover has been fairly slow lately, but as far as I can tell we are still taking on a few new pilots each month.

When you look at the regionals board, seems like everyone is in fear of their job and sounds like noone is happy. Maybe they just use this board to vent all their frustrations, but the atmosphere at Flight Express has always been good. We have fun doing what we do but also plan to move on sooner or later.
