Anyone that was interested in Flight Express before, but wouldn't consider due to the pay might be interested now. As of December 1, 2006 our new hourly rate will increase 20% to $12.00/hr. I know this still seems low, but when you do the math, if you work just an average run of 10 hours per day, that comes out to roughly $31,700 in base pay alone. A max duty route of 14 hours would give you at least 37,000 per year.
We're still severely understaffed which probably explains management's decision to sweeten the pay a bit. Twin upgrades are still going to range at about 12 months until we can start attracting more people to fill the C210 routes. Any questions please PM for more.

Remember that you're extremely unlikely to be working all the hours for which you're getting paid. For example: I work about 6 hours a day, but get paid for 13 1/2. Give it a try, I want to upgrade.

If anyone is interested, the raise is $2.50 for those who have been here over a year, meaning now $12.50/duty hour. I believe that those with over 3 years are getting $13/duty hour. For someone (say me) who's been here just over a year, holding near a maximum duty day (these are not hard to get), I stand to gross well over 40 grand next year. Theoretically, someone with over 3 years seniority and a maxed out day could crack 50k. Just a little food for thought.

Too bad 210s are not a good career move for me. It will be my 3rd year at Ameriflight and I will need to be flying a Metro before I could see that kind of money.

Pay Scale

Pilots:

I don't actively recruit on the forum and don't plan to. But for the point of clarification I do want to post the new pay scale.

Walking in the door;

$12.00/hr/duty day
(duty day is simply "punch-in to punch out" time. This means flying time and wait time).

Based on a 7.5 hr/duty day your annual salary would be $23,400.00
Based on a 14. hr/duty day your annual salary would be $43,680.00

After one year;

$12.50/hr/duty day
Based on a 7.5 hr/duty day your annual salary would be $24,375.00
Based on a 14. hr/duty day your annual salary would be $45,500.00

After three years;

$13.50/hr/duty day
Based on a 7.5 hr/duty day your annual salary would be $26,325.00
Based on a 14. hr/duty day your annual salary would be $49,140.00

There are additional seniority raises at 6 mos, 1 year, 2 years and 3 years. Upon successful completion of training you will be paid for your training time and be handed a sign on bonus check for $1000.00

A previous poster stated that the twin upgrade time is longer than any of us would like to see. Once we have more pilots starting in the 210 the wait time for the twins will improve. My personal goal is to get that wait time for the twin down to 4-5 mos.

I would be happy to answer any questions but ask that you PM. Please remember that all figures are before taxes. The IRS (which stands for I am Really Sorry) and the rest have to be paid first. If you want to get an idea of take home pay I would suggest using 17% as a deduction rate.
