The EMB-145 has had the same problem with the crew bag storage issue. The forward closet contains an O2 bottle, PBE, and a halon fire extinguisher, and the FAA says if crew bags are placed in the closet it blocks the equipment. They have even gone so far as to say that if the equipment is blocked by crew bags, then the crew could be violated. Our company began a mod program to move the equipment to a different closet, and in the meantime they have pleaded with the FAA to allow us to put our crew bags in there. Now we can...even if it blocks the equipment. In the EMB-135, I've put my bag in the galley cart before. You've just got to make sure you get it out before the caterers arrive. Bags also fit behind the last row of seats on the 135 since there is not an additional FA jumpseat like the 145.
