DALLAS, Feb. 15 /PRNewswire/ -- Flexjet, the fractional business jet ownership program of Bombardier Aerospace, saw a strong rebound in aircraft sales and orders in 2004.

The company experienced a 32 percent increase in the sale of shares of Bombardier Learjet and Challenger aircraft in the 12-month period ending December 31, 2004 compared with the same period of the previous year. The month of December was also the strongest in sales Flexjet has seen in more than three years and transactions completed during the fourth quarter of 2004 were up more than 70 percent compared with the same period in 2003."

The new Bombardier Challenger 300 and Learjet 40 aircraft have given us a significant competitive advantage," said Michael McQuay, President, Bombardier Aircraft Services. "The response to these new aircraft is very positive and has contributed to our significant increase in sales and in orders booked," added Mr. McQuay.

The Bombardier Learjet 40 aircraft entered the Flexjet program in late January 2004. Four aircraft are now fully sold and the backlog continues to grow. "The market appeal, reliability and performance of the Learjet 40 exceeded our expectations," said Mr. McQuay.

The Flexjet Challenger 300 fleet has now grown to 10 aircraft and Flexjet has already booked orders for an additional seven aircraft."

The introduction of a Secondary Service Area that allows Flexjet owners to fly to and from the Caribbean region without incurring aircraft repositioning fees has contributed to our recent increase in sales and orders," stated Bob Knebel, Vice President, Sales, Bombardier Flexjet. "We continue to lead the industry in program innovation, flexibility and satisfaction. Our people, along with program enhancements such as Versatility Plus and Anytime Options, have been critical components in owner satisfaction," added Mr. Knebel.

A recent survey found that, on average, Flexjet owners rate their overall level of satisfaction at 90 percent. The professionalism of Flexjet flight crews was highest-rated at 99 percent.

If you sell 3 shares in 2003 and then sell 4 in 2004 that's a 33% increase. Statistics are great things.
 
I might be jealous if I owned either company. As it is, I just do a job for pay. I hope that FlexJet is doing great if nothing else than for the pilots that work there. All I was saying is that those types of articles are nothing more than fluff pr pieces. Lies, dam_n lies and statistics. That's what I was pointing out.

It has been brought up in other threads that Flex was not doing so well. I think what 357 was saying was that people need to know the facts before they spread rumors. This PR newswire probably does sugar coat the company a little, but I'm here to tell you that we are doing well, sales have been at an all time high, and overall Flex is a good company to work for. Again, we are not perfect. I urge you to find a company that is, but for whats been going on through the industry as a whole, I would rather be here then anywhere else.
As a person trying to make it in an industry that is as volatile as ours, you need to go into any interview with an open mind saying to yourself ' do I see myself with this company in five years?' If not, then you should be the last person complaining about wages and policies of the company. You knew what you were getting into before you signed. Take it for what it is, a job you do until you move on to a career. I am not picking on anybody individually. But I can't be silent when people bitch about the same subject day in and day out on a public forum about their company and how they can't stand them. And the minute a person from outside 'the club' post an opinion, they are immediated jumped on and insulted. But then again, what do I know.
 
Personally, I'm very impressed with the "new" lineup at Flexjet. I parked next to a CL300 a few days back at LAS and I have seen the Lear 40s on the road quite a bit recently. I like the new paintjobs...

Owners (from all fleets) and pilots love it. Especially the owners - they are ecstatic about it. Literally, no sugar coating. The four year "projection" (we all know how those survive the next market dip) is ~10/yr.

I agree, facts are all people are looking for. We all know that marketing likes to "twist" the facts a little bit.
Unfortunately, Bombardier doesn't release fleet totals very often. (None listed on Flexjets' website)
Flex reported a total of 41 aircraft to NBAA in 1998.
In 2003, they reported 104 to AIN.
Today the FAA registry lists 85.
