are furloughees coming back retaining their longevity?? or are they newhires at year 1?

TC told me that we would retain longevity for vacation and sick time, but he was not sure if we would retain it for pay. I'm sure we will. I can't imagine going back at year 1 pay. I don't think they would do that.

Starting at the bottom again--pay wise--would be awful! And I already thought the furloughed Flex pilots were getting a raw deal having to worry about their 2 year recall limit running out---now this. I don't think any pilot should have to wonder if he/she gets to pick up where they left off. It definitely makes a strong case for the wise advice--get it in writing! When you hear things like this it's easy to see why the majority of pilots work under a contract that spells out the details and makes every agreement legally binding. There's definitely an advantage in knowing for sure versus just hoping. Good luck to the 85 and their families!

Flex-ible, keep your head down...and your chin up...:) as you watch your step. Regards, NJW

Any old furloughees from back in the day... Did you go back to original pay or no? Answer:

I am not one, but spoke directly to one who indicated that not only did they go back to Day 1, but they also signed a new training contract.

HOWEVER....I believe it is different this time since we are classified as "inactive employees". Additionally, I did not receive anything offering me the chance to transfer my 401(k) which would be required if we had no status with the company. I am hoping for "months credit" for pay, i.e. if you worked 13 months before the furlough, you get a new anniversary date 13 months prior to your recall....does that make sense?

NJW: Iraq is only slightly more dangerous than Flex's hotel in Teterboro. Pray for the guys in A-stan; much worse over there. After all, I still have the Internet!

So hopefully, some of you guys will get to pick up where you left off and the calendar date will be re-set to match? Is there something solid to base that hope on? If it works out that way it will be good for those who get that...but what about those who didn't...assuming they did have to go back to year one pay? That's not fair. What a tough situation. How can you ever know what to expect? Or have confidence that you'll all be treated equally?

And a new training contract, too?! Hopefully, it's just a paperwork thing and the pilots will get credit for time already put down on the original one. That would be the right thing to do. Good luck to everyone dealing with that issue. I hope it gets settled without the Flex pilots getting the short end.

Flex-ible, your A-stan request has been noted. I'm glad you have Internet service; your updates are informative. Take care. NJW

Netjetwife,

Thank you so much for devoting your post - number 2,576 - to this industry you don't work in, and this company you don't work for. It is so very highly appreciated.

For those who may also feel inclined to help with this deployed pilot's request. We have troops in Afghanistan who could use your thoughts and/or prayers.

Netjetwife,

I'm wondering when she will take a year off again and/or what made her do that last year, so hopefully it will happen again!!! She just doesn't get it that we don't care what she has to say... Go back to posting about NJ on the Irony thread, oh yeah your starting to piss off all the NJ pilots there too! :erm: :(

Actually you do care what she says, otherwise you wouldn't give her the attention. I'm going personal with this though and say that it looks like she might have cankles . Hard to tell through those boots though!

I learn a lot posting here. Some things more useful than others...;) I had to look "cankles" up in the urban dictionary- An ankle which has no discernable narrowing from the calf to the foot. Ohh fat ankles...makes sense...and I agree, not attractive. For those curious about such things :erm: (very few surely) it's not, and has never been, a problem for me. I have slender ankles and correctly proportioned legs.

My turn...:p How is it that pilots who live by a detailed checklist are so willing to leave the fate of their career to the whims of management instead of working under a fair contract...

NJW - You don't work in this industry. You don't work at our company. We don't care about your opinion on anything. Please leave our threads, and all of us alone. Maybe you can find a forum for attention-starved loser housewives that have nothing better to do with their lives than sticking their nose in other people's business all day long. GET A LIFE, LOSER!

As an NJI Cpt. I have to agree with you on that part only I don't feel like it was forced down my throat--it came in a little further south! No way I will ever be a member of the "one big happy family" and from what I see of the interaction between nja and NJI when I'm on the road that happy family concept is a long way off. Most of us here still have good long term memory and will feel the union everytime we take a step. It is going to be a roough road!

No one gives a half a sht about you, first ya come on here and cry that you're a new hire First Officer that wants to be left out of the merging seniority list so you can be allowed to upgrade to Capt in the G-wiss fleet, and now you say you are a g-wiss capt.. you are a real piece of ********************

While your out there tooling along in your blind obedience to all thing union--go back and reread my post. I think you will find my empathies with our FOs and several questions on their behalf but never saying that I was one. You are so typical of the kool aid drinking, blind followers of union mentality.--if you disagree with someone's opinion attack them personally. That usually happens when you have a very weak or no argument--thanks, you reinforced my opinion once again. Care to solidify it a little more? One other piece of advice I will borrow from njw---you have the option if you really don't care---use the ignore function.

It really wasn't that hard to call your bluff, all it took was a quick internet search of "harley30344" http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&source=hp&q=harley30344&btnG=Google+Search&aq=f&oq=&aqi=

which turned up a 30180 zip, http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/member.php?u=2447

than another quick and simple search for ATP holders in that zip at http://www.landings.com/evird.acgi$pass*137965635!_h-www.landings.com/_landings/pages/search/search_namd_full.html

and than cross checked those ATP holders for type ratings in the G-wiss
at http://www.faa.gov/licenses_certificates/airmen_certification/interactive_airmen_inquiry/

bounce that off the seniority list and what do you know, a very junior GV first officer.

Two other people here have nailed you lying your a$$ off and you continue to talk $hit about how you are an NJI captain, how much bullsh!t do you think you can talk Harley30344?

Wow. That would suck, to be outed like that. To have everybody at your company know that you're a liar. And a hypocrite. And an idiot, for using such an easily traceable user name.

Man, that would suck.

Harley, IMHO you might see our union (you want so desperately to go away) help you keep your job. How ironic!
Remember, you still don't have recall/furlough/seniority protection until we're all one big happy family.
