Sweet! That what I was hoping to hear...might not have j/s but at least you can do that:) I like!

I have finished in SEA with 5 days off, so I stayed in SEA for 3 days including a trip to Vancouver. Finished in Santa Monica did the same. Boston, Atlanta, Chicago, Denver. Now you have to pay for the hotel but if you play your cards right you can find a good crew rate. Then when you are ready to head home ( you have to be home by 1201am the night before you start) you call Scheduling and they get you an airline home. I have also had them fly me to CLT or ATL at the end of a rotation so I could drive home to see family then bought my own ticket back to Florida ( with the help of travel).
So yes if you learn how the system works you can get to see alot of great places.

Wondering this...I know Polar Air Cargo has an open 135 policy for jumpseating. I was wondering if any of the guys have taken a ride on them before?

Just talked to KP personally. She didn't like the fact I lived about three hours from KFLL. I was a little surprised. I didn't think it was that big a deal to commute by car. She said "you would hate us after about a year",(commute wise) and current pilots who have to commute by car, etc are miserable. "not good for the servicing of owners". She also said they are only hiring folks who live in domicile, or willing to relocate. That's too bad, would have like to worked there.

Well...I guess the 2.5 hour drive to TEB would get the same response. Dam.

I am not "miserable", but I am also getting ready to move to DFW. Partly that is driven by the fact that I can buy a house outright, and partly because I don't really enjoy crashing at Sheltair the night before my rotation. My wife has also gotten tired of FLA because of the insurance we pay. We live on the water and our taxes and insurance is up to $850/month. But a lot of guys who are perfectly happy here drive from TPA.

It was bizarre. I told her it didn't matter to me and she kind of made her own decision not to move forward with me. Oh well, guess i'll continue to be home everynight!
