How long exactly (or as exact as you can guess)? From what I understand the top 70% by seniority is eligible for HBA. Hiring 400ish a year it can't be that long can it? It seems to me that if deliveries/attrition stay on track then it's only a matter of 2-3 years. That's a drop in the bucket over a 30+ year career. If I've got things wrong here please fill me in....

You've got the percentage backwards. The company may limit HBA participation to 30% of the seniority list, not 70%. According to the contract, the participation level may exceed 30% because of grandfathered pilots (i.e. pilots on the seniority list prior to ratification) using their rights to HBA. A new-hire will have to wait to reach the UPPER 30% of the seniority list, according to the current contract.

If you go to the ibt1108.org website and want to read the language for yourself, check Section 13.1(b). The contract, by the way, can be found by clicking on "NetJets Pilots", "Info for New Hires" and then selecting "Contract".

Lest I be accused of thread hi-jacking, let's return to the Flex/CS questions. B6 - if you've got other questions, feel free to PM me.

At CS you may change your base as you wish, there is no bidding. You simply tell your Asst. Chief and fill out a form to let the rest of the company know your new address.

Cheers!

NJA/Home based airports

At NJA, there doesn't appear to be any allowance for a new-hire to change domiciles until he/she qualifies for HBA (Home Base Airport)...

Is this still true w/ the new contract? Does the contract grandfather in X number of pilots? Or for a certain amount of time? Do you think that they will increase the number of bases?

HBA and domiciles-only-for-new-hires are both items under the new contract. They did not exist under the previous CBA. In fact, when I hired on with NetJets under the old contract, I lived in one city and then moved several states away a few months later. All I had to do was tell the company that I was moving and give them my new address. It doesn't appear that a new-hire can do that under the current contract.

Sure can plus add another 40k in retro.

Another thread stolen by NJ BS. Can't you guys afford your own board with your raise?

Just answering questions asked about NJA, Art. I even tried once to return this thread to the CS and Flex direction but apparently that didn't work.
