And what a horrible experience that was. Everything besides the pilots I came in contact with was a wretch. The flight attendant wouldn't get me an empty cup before T/O. The flight attendant that was supposed to be onboard went to smoke a cigarette before the flight and just left work instead of returning. The gate agents at the departure city weren't using the PA to tell the pax about the reason we were delayed, and then luckily we heard last call being yelled out, instead of over the PA. The bus and driver to the plane were both pathetic. The gate agents weren't at our gate when we arrived, so we had to stand on the plane with no air for ten minutes waiting for someone to show up to bring stairs up to the plane. The ERJ is a piece of junk and is way to loud and the seats to narrow for any flight over an hour.

Can't wait until there contract runs out or they are run off to make room for someone who does it right. Express Jet, you guys suck.

What... was it the first time you've taken a ride on a regional jet?

The service might suck, but go take a ride on an ERJ with any other carrier. Your experience will be identical.

HMMM let me guess IAH Hardstand....sorry your experience was a crappy one..but we don't control the bus transportation...thats handled by CAL and in their defense the company that provides the service leaves a lot to be desired...Oh yes flakey flight attendants whats new...? Wishing our contract expires and the company goes under...childish! Voice your complaints to Continental not the web board . For what its worth we do it right 90 percent of the time..so STFU!!! Next time take your 172/182/GIV or whatever else you fly that dosent require your patience and or a flight attendant/gate agent or bus transportation!

Things Expressjet can control:
Pilots being there and and ready to fly- check
Airplane there and maintenance free- check
Flight attendant- screwed that one up
Not providing AC-screwed that up to
Uderstaffed gate agents- maybe us maybe CAL
Hardstand transportation-out of our control
July 4th weather in Houston-Out of our control
ATC Delays/Diversions- Out of our control

Hope your experience is better next time if their is a next time..Oh yeah and I flew the 4th in Houston a real mess.. max duty day.

Cheers

Go back to your corporate 182 job, dumbass! Obviously you have no clue.
Bet the cup was for your dip, right dumbass?

YOU SUCK. Stick to the corporate board you whiner. Next time shell out the bucks for the GV or BBJ or STFU about your 150 dollar ticket.

An empty cup before takeoff? How many airlines come through with a "service" before takeoff if you're sitting in coach? You do realize the F/A has 50 people to take care of, has to close all the bins, make sure everyone is seated properly, talk to the gate agents, do the count, and close the door before pushback right?

As far as the Gate Area and Agents in IAH....ALL CAL. You can complain to CAL about that. We can only work with the facilities and people they provide in IAH, including the gate agents and rampers. We do a mighty fine job considering the understaffed and overworked nautre of the ground staff in IAH.

Well if we suck so bad in your opinion, don't fly us again....but I'm sure you will if you or your boss can save 50 bucks on their roundtrip fare.

Got a probem with the service? Next time ask to speak to the Captain before you blast your tears online....

I'll dare you to ride CAL's 737 in the middle seat and call our EMB-145 a piece of crap. The RJ is by far a better ride. You are wecome to ride us again, but mind your manners and politely ask to speak with the crew if you have some suggestions.

Flamebait I expect.... MESA?

Ahh Express Jet and the 500 hour pilots.

Power goes in... power goes out... power goes in... power goes out... power goes in... power goes out... power goes in... power goes out... power goes in... power goes out... float 3000 feet... flairing is for wussys and lock the brakes after smackdown.

I think they get a bonus for every cloud they can go through.

TXGold, I mean TXTool, get a life. Crews, and esp. FA's, have a lot of other people and things to deal with on the ground. Most *really* try to make the best out of crappy situations.

Ever been to the USAir Express gates at LGA? No joke: The other day, board-up at LGA: feels like 110 degrees outside, we have no APU, and our plane is dark, dark blue. The people, mostly in suits in the cabin, are BAKING. Rampers disappear and we sit for what feels like 30 mins. I finally corral them together and get things moving. Wait forever in line for t/o, then fly for close to 2 hours. (Don't forget, these pax are probably dropping several Benjamins for this city pair). My crew (and mostly the FA) still got "thanks you's" and "nice flight" comments from the deplaning pax. Why? Because the realize that some things are just out of our control. Rampers, gate agents, weather, etc., don't make it easy at times.

Cynic,

Don't insult me....that would be 2600 hours you tool bag....! So again STFU.This insult fellow pilot BS around here is getting old.Make fun of us all you want its a great place to work and pretty good people all around. Yeah and we have a lot of low time people most do a fine job..So continue to be a brokeback pilot and insult your fellow pilots and XJT'ers all you want.. Did you bring anything to this discussion? Besides go make me a pot pie!

Cheers

I commute on COA and XJT about 20 times a year. I have always had good experience with both. I haven't come across an XJT crew yet that I thought was unprofessional. I actually prefer the single seat in the ERJ than the window or aisle seat in the 737. And both give me more leg room than the front seat in my Lear.

Yeah, that's what happens when you flyinto a hub airport and you get a step down descent in 1000 ft increments below 10,000. You also can't deviate for every little cumulus cloud when you're sharing the airspace within a 10 NM radius with about 50 other aircraft. But I'm sure you know that, flying the mighty Lear and all. You should also know that we are being asked to use a decreased flap setting for landings, which often results in increased brake usage and longer landings. The tradeoff is significant fuel savings when multiplied x 1000 daily flights.

As usual on this board, someone throws out some inflamatory post then disappears and watches everyone'e head explode.

Classic.

You guys didn't let him down, that's for sure.

Children Children. Why are you falling for this flaimbate? Besides, at least you won't have to deal with this a-hole TXGold on board in the future.

I will say however, that the whole Continental operation has been running like #$@& so far this summer. Suprisingly, the IAH hub has been running as bad as EWR lately. The hardstands are a joke.

All these sour brokeback pilots complaining about XJT, probably got shown the door when they interviewed here, So they're back flight instructing or flying banners(not that there is anything wrong with that). Its just their own way of getting back to the company that turned them down. SO PEOPLE LET THEM VENT OUT THEIR FRUSTRATIONS!!!

i love watchign you xjet guys get your fur all in a rough. some guy drops one line to even suggest that you aren't the skygods you all think you are, and you are right in there. tell him again how he didn't make the interview, he obviously isn't xjet material. your lavs must smell the best after you guys use them.

and for the record, i did interview at xjet, and turned them down.

Sorry I upset you guys so much. I was very rude, and I apologize. I would go back and change the part about "you guys suck," but don't want to make all of the hateful comments seem unwarranted. Its just I can't believe how awful of an experience it was. I did want a cup to dip. Sorry. I have seen your pilots thru the airplane windows putting in dip while waiting to deplane. What is the big deal with just giving someone a cup before takeoff. I saw what she was doing and in the time she explained to me that she couldn't get me a cup until she has time after takeoff, she could have walked ten feet to the galley and back and handed me a cup. After being delayed as long as I was it seems there might have been a way to show some appreciation to the customer. As for the assumptions made about my carrier path, you couldn't be more wrong.
So, again, I apologize about the comments I made about your contract, I shouldn't wish that on anyone. I know not to come back here again.

Look, it's really simple. As long as management acts like total shltheads, service will not improve at the abused airlines. All of our peers in other industries start in the 30k range and easily and routinely earn $40 to $60 K or more, simply for showing up, nothing more. It has nothing to do with what you're worth, or what you can negotiate. That is all distracting bullshlt. It only is because that is what you MUST earn to be middle class. Pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, gate agents and yes, also rampies MUST BE MIDDLE CLASS at the very least, if you ever want to get good service. If you want us to earn food stamp wages, then you can go f*ck yourselves. It will NEVER change unless you at least welcome us into the middleclass. That means AT LEAST $40 to $50 K a year. Market forces are just so much bullsh*t. Pay us a decent wage or go to h#ll.

Everything must be stowed before takeoff. The FA cannot even leave a plastic cup on the armrest. That's FAA mandate, you cannot blame the crew. Don't take my word; you can ask 121 FAs.

Not to mention...

How many times do you think the FA's have been asked for "just a cup"? (I'm sure the majority of them are smart enough to know what it's for.) And in turn, how many times do you think they've had to pick up a nasty @ss cup left in the seatback after a flight? Gives them a real reason to drop everything and get your cup huh?

Hey man. Not all of us Lear drivers are AHoles. And I kinda like that airplane.

This joke is funny, and since you already disclaiimed yourself you are exempt.

But does anybody know the difference between a Lear Jet and a Porcupine?

With a porcupine, the pricks are on the outside.

TXGold, read the posts about ASA on the 4th of July at ATL, and I think you had a pretty good flying experience on XJT.

Thought the original post was a classic case of forgot to logout in the hotel, biz center but guess I was wrong. TXGold? More like TXTrash, but we are talking about someone from Texas here...:D
