I have friends that fly for both ExpressNet and CAT. They told me that when UPS gives them the boot this June that they will be flying for DHL out of Wilmington. My ExpressNet friend told me that their management has told them that DHL has told ABX not to repaint anymore of their aircraft in DHL colors since the other ACMI's will be doing some of the flying for DHL.

ACMI's and ILN

What does the slowdown in painting ABX A/C DHL yellow have to do with other ACMI carriers flying for DHL out of ILN? Now if CAT and ExpressNet paint their A/C DHL yellow that will be something to talk about. The "slow down" in the yellow paint schedule has as much to do with delaying some cost after a very expensive integration. The lift from the A/C may also be needed. DHL has indicated that they intend to provide a better and more reliable product than they have in the recent past. I do not think adding several "new" carriers in to a system that is now operating smoothly is a logical step in the US evolution. As it is with all things, time will tell. Being on the ABX Air side of things I feel now as confident as I have ever been that the future looks bright for us. Unfortunately one thing does appear to be certain, if you fly jets for an ACMI company that provides lift to UPS you will eventually be looking for other employment. Those are the hard but accurate facts.

Not every freight pilot in EIEIO is petrified; the rumours du jour vary from the grim reaper to Mary Poppins so we kind of are innoculated against the doom and gloom side of the speculation.
I side with the school of thought that believes ABX will kick everybodies ass and rule the world. That is, of course, until I retire then they'll go right down the old crapper.

You are correct. We are changing color schemes. Your sisters uncles brothers best friend who knows your neighbor must not have "listened". DHL is going Lime green. Tell your buddies that when they paint them lime green they can park next to me anytime down in ILN. The more the merrier.
