thanks so much for all the good info....in your opinion(s) late july to early august would be best for catching a diverse group of fish and June is really only good for the kings???

BTW....lets say were lucky enough to catch a few...then what....how do you pack all of the fish out...fedex? any good books out there to do some "how to" for the rookie here? setups, mooching, trolling, riggings etc...

thanks

What I have seen done before (depending on how far you are going) is to have someone freeze your fish for you- probably in ANC. Then wrap them in newspaper, throw them in a styrofoam cooler and wrap heavily in duct tape. There you have the Alaskan samsonite. Some of the airlines up there (I know Alaska does, or at least used to) sell "fish boxes", which is basically a cardboard box with a waxy coating.

I agree about going all the way to AK and fishing in Ship Creek - it's like kissing your sister while watching porn in an Amsterdam hotel room....or whatever that guy said. ;)

Ship Creek is good for a quick cast or two after work, or if you are on a layover downtown. If you are going all the way up there to fish, get out of town. Enjoy!

There is also a company in downtown Anchorage called The Alaska Fish Company (If my memory serves me), drop your fish off and give them the address to send it to and they take care of the rest. I shipped a whole 47 lb king that I caught in Ship Creek to my parents like that.
