RAH XJT
1. $22. $22.
2. $30. $33.
3. $34. $35.

Earth shattering.......

I believe he was saying that CHQ gets paid less flying a 170 than we do a 145.

All right didnt think i would get a real answer. At my current regional at 23.50 I made 27k after taxes (ave 90 hrs credit) . Is this possible at CHQ. If google can give me that info im buying the stock tomorrow.

google...................it works great

Maybe you hadn't noticed, but this is the exact place one would ask a question like that without having to use google.

it's definately possible... but it's a little out of your hands. bases and even month to month lines go fat and thin with hours from time to time - and if you're on rsv, you probably won't see quite that much, but with a line and a little extra flying here and there, 27k after taxes is possible. not that that's any great wad of cash. I would not plan on it though if you've got an absolute minimum cash need though, like for a mortgage payment.

Maybe he was doing it as mercy - suggesting that to protect you from XJT people who are going to slam you with accusations of under-cutting the industry . . .

. . . just a thought.

You can get about 1100 to 1200 credit hrs a year as a lazy lineholder...the RSV guys are making tons of credit every month. The F/O pay is hemmed in response to ALPA's J4J "agreements". I can't argue with waterheads....hope your senior Capts can straighten you idiots out...

P.S. Just because CAL MAINLINE reallocated THEIR flying doesn't mean it's stolen...I'll be in the IAH Holiday Inn several nights this month. If you want a discussion group, just let me know.

How long will the current hiring wave go on? Probably won't be competitive for another four to six months. Also, difficulty of holding SDF as an FO?

And yes, I'm a sellout and a whore, despite the fact that I've never worked for a regional airline in my life. Obviously, it's my job to raise the bar by staying underemployed and protecting your uncompetitive airline from the mistakes of a contract you negotiated for yourselves. If you pay me enough, I'll spread for you too, so stop slamming and start saving.

Regards,
Rip

U will make less being an FO on a 170, 135, 145 than on a 145 at xjt flying the same routes.

If you have money to buy stock then the pay shouldn't be an issue.

Yep..they'll find ya and make you pay their extortion money.

I know, but any CAL flying will be done by 145's. I'm comparing apples to apples. The 170 FO rates at RAH should be higer, and I'm sure that will be addressed during the next contract negotiations. Current contract expires in '07. This young fellow is trying to make a decision between XJT & RAH. Since there is a nominal pay difference but higher risk differential it seems obvious to me where he should set his sights.

Hourly rates definitely don't tell the whole story. There's a reason we couldn't compete with them on costs, even though we have a larger operation.

REP has a training agreement do they not? That seems pretty stiff considering FO pay is low to begin with.

It's a bond...No money exchanging hands if you serve your time....

How do you make so much off 23.5/hour and 1080hrs/year? where did all the extra $$ come from? work rules?

1st yr at CHQ half reserve half line holder I got paid for 933 hours and grossed 24,557....low but 8500 more than I made as a flight instructor working 14 hour days 7 days a week.

Hourly rates are a small part of our contract.

Last month I got paid for 142 hours, actually worked 64 of them, and had 16 days off. That paycheck was bigger than some of the Captain's I flew with. This past February was a vactation month for me. My 7 days of vacation ended up as 20 consecutive days off. I was paid 79 hours for the month, during which, I actually flew one 4-day trip worth 24 hours. You can't beat XJTs work rules.

I'm not pissed at CHQ for getting some of the flying. It's not stolen, it was awarded from CAL. I wouldn't say we've "stolen" any flying from CAL, would you? It's business. And in business it's never a good idea to have all your eggs in one basket.

An interesting discussion is taking place on the Majors board right now (please don't turn it into the flamefests we have over here). Does anyone know if the CHQ agreement is based specifically on 69 airplanes regardless of whether we give them back?

Some have theorized that CAL wants to reduce RJ flying system wide and is counting on XJT keeping most of the planes. CAL will tell CHQ not to bother looking for more planes to bring it up to 69 and that they only get that small amount of flying now. CAL could simply reduce its total RJ flying by that much and could operate with that much less capacity in the system or could use 737s for some of it. Plus they get more on the leases from the planes XJT keeps. XJT thinks they're screwing CAL by keeping the planes but it might be exactly what they want. Everybody's happy except CHQ, who now gets a much smaller piece than anticipated. So does anyone know if the agreement with CHQ specifically for 69 airplanes or was it just for how ever many airplanes XJT gives back?

I had heard CAL was using RJ's for the sole purpose of occupying gate space at EWR and CLE.

Its for 69 airframes up front with an option to get 274 total over the term of the contract. CAL dosent't want to reduce its RJ population, they want more control over the costs. If you guys keep ALL 69 jets,(don't think its gonna happen) but if you do, we'll shift our 145's out of florida to cover.
