FAA has no new certificate filings under the EAL and PAA names. This is a hoax.

Not a hoax. This has been ongoing for a while. At least with EAL. Not sure about PAA.

I would imagine both these airlines will be Miami Air Sub Charter.

Another cover band trying to make a greatest hits album. Hilarity ensues.

Isn't another People Express in the works too?

From a.net:

Yet more confusion around proposed People Express reincarnation.

Today they filed notice with the DOT that they seek to withdraw their application for air carrier certification and commercial authority for interestate transportation.

Company says it "has undergone significant changes in organization and financing, such that the information in the application currently on file is out of date. While the company does plan to prosecute an application for authority, it believes that it would be more efficient simply to start afresh with a new application at the appropriate time."

I'm not sure if these guys know if they are coming or going....

This from another source. I took it as coming from someone who works for Vision:

"Vision Airlines is currently accepting applications on climbto350.com. [that may have ended] We are planning on hiring about 18 pilots, half captain and half first officer, operating for the new Peoples Express airlines out of Virginia."

"The relationship with PE is we will be flying for them until they get their own aircraft and operating certificate."

Seems to be rather a lot of 737 pilots around. :D
