I couldn't open up the link on CNN and it's almost showtime...so I've got to get moving.
I hope everyone is OK.

Fox News is showing the airplane on the runway with the evacuation slides deployed and the passengers leaving on a bus. The current explanation is a landing gear fire and that no passengers were hurt. Sounds like they all did a great job to get everyone off safely!

They are now reporting that the fire was on landing not an aborted takeoff and that the gear/tires caught on fire. Can anyone say brake malfunction...

Again, obviously the crew did a fantastic job getting everyone off safely and quickly.

Crew is probably worth a HECK of a lot more than they are being paid... But don't tell management that.

Glad this had a good outcome. These things always seem to happen in 3s. LEX, MIA and _ _ _. Or was there something before LEX.

MIA....USAir

Todays was the third. We should be safe for a while.

I think a day or 2 after LEX there was a plane that parachuted into a pond in Indiana and then I heard something about a KingAir that crashed somewhere else in KY that same day.

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- All 118 passengers and crew were evacuated safely Thursday when a fire broke out in the left wheel well of US Airways Flight 431, officials said.
Firefighters using foam quickly extinguished the fire, which was sparked when two tires blew as the Boeing 737 landed at 1:45 p.m., Federal Aviation Administration spokeswoman Kathleen Bergen said.
Airport operations supervisor Ike Wetherill said the 113 passengers and five crew aboard used emergency slides to get out of the jetliner, and no one was hurt. (Watch what a passenger said about the hasty escape -- :58)
The flight, which originated in Albany, New York, was arriving from Charlotte, North Carolina.
"The plane did not have a problem until it got on the ground," Wetherill said. "Two-thirds of the way down the runway, it appeared to have a problem. It did blow tires and there was some flash of fire."
The plane stopped safely at the end of the runway which, at 13,000 feet, is the longest of the airport's four runways.
