About John Kerry
John F Kerry was born 5 days late on December 11, 1943 at Fitzsimons Military Hospital in Denver, Colorado, where his stepfather, Dick Kerry, was planning to be treated for tuberculosis. Several weeks after John's birth, his family decided to bring their freakish looking infant home to Massachusetts. Growing up, John found it difficult to make friends his own age however he came to be accepted and loved as an altar boy in the local Catholic church.
His odd appearance did have its advantages, John was invited to become the official mascot of a secret college society known as the Skull and Bones. After graduation, he entered the Navy and served aboard a gunboat in Vietnam. He received several medals for his service.
Growing weary of the War in Vietnam, John Kerry returned home and decided to pursue a career in politics. Hoping to make a name for himself, Kerry partnered with the most well known anti-war activists of the time such as Jane Fonda, Donald Sutherland and Tom Hayden. John spent a considerable amount of time organizing riots, making signs and spitting on "scummy soldiers" returning from the war.
John became so active in the anti-war movement that in 1971 he was invited to testify before congress about America's involvement in Vietnam. Kerry spoke candidly about the atrocities committed by American soldiers. He spoke about the rapes, beheadings and torture committed by United States Servicemen. He told stories about American GI's who shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam. As part of his indictment against the American Soldiers, Kerry stated that the people of the United States had an obligation to make extensive economic reparations to the country of Vietnam. Kerry was a co-founder of the Vietnam Veterans of America and became a spokesperson for the Vietnam Veterans Against the War. To this day, John Kerry remains outspoken in his support for third-world dictatorships and the few remaining communist regimes.
Fourteen years later, John Kerry's wish had finally come true. At last, he won the opportunity to serve in politics. In 1984, after becoming Lieutenant Governor, Kerry was elected to the United States Senate. Like his predecessor, Paul Tsongas, Kerry came to the Senate with a passion for liberalism and reinforced it by voting to eliminate funding for the B-2 Stealth Bomber, the Apache Helicopter and the Patriot Missile System. To demonstrate his independence, Kerry often broke with many in his own party by voting to increase spending on brothel subsidies and proposed a bill lowering the age of sexual consent from 18 to 16.
Now serving his fourth term, John Kerry has worked to bring progressive reforms to public education. He's sponsored bills to teach children about sex and condoms. He voted against the marriage protection act and has voted to raise taxes more than any other Senator now serving in Washington. According to a recent report, John is the most liberal Senator in more than a generation.
John Kerry is married to Teresa Heinz, a multimillion dollar heir to the Heinz Ketchup fortune. John has two daughters, a dog and a girlfriend on the side. Teresa has three sons, John, Andre, and Christopher. Teresa and her boys live in the main part of the house. However, husband John has been residing in a separate guesthouse since 1999.
