No ... At least not here in Nevada. They used to excuse police officers (LEO's) but as a few months ago ... not even they cannot get out of it. When I served there was a police officer that did get out of it , only because he had previously arrested the fellow that was being prosecuted.
In Florida LEO's are still excused from Jury Duty. I think that is just local and not federal.
there isn't a defense attorney in this continent that won't do everything in his/her power to eliminate a LEO of any type from Jury selection. As a general rule we as LEO's are none to sympathetic with those on trial...
For those FFDOs in the So Cal area...
...A friend of mine is an FFDO and gets into some of the theme parks (Knotts) when they have Police and firemans days. Gets the family in for free.
