my brother, 6'6" 280lbs, avidly practices kung Fu, professional chef (pastry chef at that) would crush most "manly" pilots with no more effort than that which it takes to swat a fly. He could probably put the hurt on you with a cannoli.

All kidding aside, your brother must have to beat the ladies off with a stick.

Sustienance (cooking) and protection (Kung Fu) abilities are two out of the three things for a animal magnetism (which is really what women want) hat trick.

The third ability is entertainment, which can be playing an instrument (usually the piano or guitar), humor, or singing but sometimes being well read counts.

If you have two or three of the above, you can do really well with the ladies, although if you do one really really well, it can compensate.

I would wonder if they are not under some 'manadatory' hiring policies. The last time I added to my staff, I had to make sure the ad read 'minority and female applicants are encouraged to apply', or some such stuff, and it really stemmed from a review of our company by one of our customers, a city, looking at EEO.

And, my CEO insisted that I find a minority or female applicant that fit the job.
