Feds Investigate Sandwich Stolen From Break Room

DES MOINES, Iowa -- Who took the peanut butter sandwich?

It may be too sticky a case for police in Des Moines, so they've turned it over to the federal Transportation Security Administration.

Christine Woods says her sandwich was taken from a break room at the Des Moines airport.

The only ones who have access to the room are 16 federal security workers. They have to punch a code into a keypad to get in.

Police Lt. David Huberty says the theft of a sandwich is still a theft. But he says if he were to send a detective to interview 16 people about it -- it would be an "inappropriate use of resources."

The woman whose sandwich is gone says she's afraid a wallet or purse could disappear next time.

My nut sandwich is gone.

Don't want to start a flame war with number 1 but, I had to post this anyway....I mean they took a peanutbutter sandwich....just imagine if it had jelly on it!

Gee..I wonder if these things would/could ever be stolen, I mean after all the TSA people have undergone the extensive 10 year background check and they are all professionals with their high school education, so why would they or anybody else want these things:

1. The guns we are going to be allowed to carry.
2. My $200 headset....btw it all ready has been.
3. My uniform hat?!...yes it's true...that has been stolen as well.
4. My sunglasses...bought em for $5 at Wal-Mart...but hey somebody looks cool out there.
Now for the things confiscated from me at security:
5. My spare lighter....but for some odd reason I can have 5 books of matches...not sure I understand that one.
6. My Leatherman.
7. My tweezers.
8. My fingernail clippers.
9. My safety razor; believe it or not my Gillette Sensor was taken from me.
and finally number 10. It wasn't taken from me but the security screeners tried until I called their supervisor over....my 4 D cell flashlight! They said it could be used as a weapon and my response was..."no $hit?...thanks I hadn't thought of that".

The Captain I'm flying with right now had a total nazi TSA hard-on in PHL take his 4 - cell MagLite from him last week. The nazi said that 'He couldn't take a WEAPON through security'. After patiently explaining that it was required for him to do his job and then involving the security supervisor (who supported the nazi) he went to the aircraft and woke up the ATA security manager in IND (originating flight at 0615 EST). It took ATA management calling TSA brass in Washington before the MagLite was returned to the Captain at push time with, and I quote, "my sincere apologies" from the TSA nazi.

The Captain went through the same checkpoint the next day and got eye-fukd by the nazi, but the presence of his MagLite got no attention from the mouth breathers at security.
