I heard a rumor they were going to start meet and greets again after the new year. Does anyone know if this is true? I also heard a rumor that you have to have two people (seperate times) go in to do the meet and greets, any truth?

Has anyone heard anything about an interview that hasn't done the greet but have a sponsor? How many online recomendation do Ineed?

Our ACP said first of the year they will be starting Grip and Grins again. Also, general rule of thumb is 6 months from meet and greet to call. Again, your mileage may vary... In addition you need the standard 3 FedEx recs, two of which have had to have flown with you. I don't know if there is any truth to the two guys have to go in on your behalf, sounds a bit excessive to me but who knows... Good Luck hope the info helps!!

I had the standard 3 recs, two of which had flown with me. Did Grip N Grin in ANC in Feb, called for interview in Oct (8 months later). None of my recs actually "went in for me", except for the one guy during the Grip N Grin.

Of those that have done a meet & greet (or that may know)... how important would you say it is to be at the meet & greet? I actually just learned that not everyone goes, and that it is more of a personal recommendation that your sponsor provides for you to the CP or ACP.

I would do whatever it takes to be there. You can either show it is important enough to you to take the time, money, and effort to show up, or that it isn't worth the effort.

I tend to agree. I did alot of arm-twisting at my job to make it to my meet and greet. That being said, however, I realize it's not always possible to coordinate your schedule, your sponsor's schedule, and the ACP's schedule so that everyone can make it. Do what you can, but realize that, if absolutely necessary, your sponsor can walk your resume and his recommendation form in at any time, with or without you.
