I am thinking this fall, but who the heck knows.

How many DC-10's still left? I'm thinking the MD-10 #'s are even to the DC-10's, maybe higher?Goose17 said:Feels good to have some movement finally.
After the last guy on the training letter trains, I will be:
252 from the MD-11
302 from the Airbus
341 from the DC-10
You can hold any of those seats if you were hired the year prior. FedEx did a big hiring push (450 or so I believe) the year before I was hired to staff the postal bid we got. That big rush of bodies has seriously slowed the progression down of guys hired after the big hiring push.
As of now, you can kind of see from the numbers above... The DC-10 is the most "senior" seat for F/Os (you have a S/O to do the work), followed by the bus and the 11 last. This might change on the next contract since I think the union is pushing to separate out the widebody fleet as far as pay making the 11 the highest paid.
After the 727 right seat, I will be gunning for the bus right seat. I am enjoying flying domestically and during the day right now and I think the bus has a good combination of the 2. That move could take another 2-1/2 years, but I hear lots of rumors of lots of new planes and pilots to boot, so who the heck really knows.
Congrats to all the parties that moved up. It is nice to be part of a company that actually has upward movement.

So thats the secret! "Type Fast"!NightFlyer said:ILS,
It might be tough getting back into a flying seat if you've been in the back seat for a very long time but otherwise it's like riding a bike. There was a guy in my class last summer that was coming from five years in the back of the DC10 and he didn't have a problem. The 727 might be little different since you actually have to fly it but the for the MD11 you just have to know how to type fast.
