FEDEX feeder to Mainline FEDEX

Some Fedex Feeder management non pilots and some Fedex ' Mainline ' management types are specifically listed on Empire's Jump-List, I carried quite a few ' Suites ' when I worked there, that was, however, on the F-27, I presume the same applies to the ATR.
The flowthrough, preferential interview or any such other being discriminated against may not be official policy but the stats speak for themselves, the ' Suit ' I asked indicated that although he wasn't sure he felt that it was possible that Fedex required at least 3 years of ' Feeder ' service to recoup training costs prior to considering an application to mainline.
I don't work there anymore.....my resume is on the way, need a mainline sponsor though, how about it Tony C ??? :)

Unfortunately, statistics do NOT speak for themselves. Perhaps you've heard the quip, "There are lies, there are d@mn lies, and then there are statisitcs."

You might consider, as you pore over those numbers before you (you do have the statistics, right?) the qualifications of the pilots in the group. You should also consider the requirements for consideration at FedEx Express. Certainly, any time flown for a FedEx feeder contributes to Total Time, but how much does it contribute to Turbine PIC? How many FedEx feeder aircraft are considered "fixed-wing jet [or] fixed wing multi-engine turbo-prop"?

That sounds like something a manager at a FedEx feeder would prefer. It is NOT a FedEx Express requirement. FedEx Express has no control over hiring practices at FedEx feeders.

Let me repeat, to be clear. FedEx Express has no preference towards, nor prejudice against, FedEx feeder pilots. Whether you be a FedEx feeder pilot, a passenger carrier feeder pilot, a FedEx Express courier or a FedEx Express handler, you must meet the minimum requirements in order to land an interview. The FedEx Express courier and handler have the advantage of the Internal Hiring process, but even that does no good if they don't have the minimum requirements.

Run your statistics again, please. I suggest you include only those feeder pilots that meet the hours experience requirements. You might also look at those feeder pilots that meet the experience requirements and were ALSO current employees of FedEx Express as couriers, handlers, etc. Compare those with American Eagle pilots who meet the experience requirements and are also currently employed by FedEx Express in some capacity.

Don't think it can't happen - - I know several.

Remember guys, the 121 side of the feeders is less than 10% of all feeders. This is just a small group of feeder pilots, and is therefore not really represented well. It is the one side that could flow through, have you really even tried?

I may be wrong on this, but I heard that he had a 4 year degree from some cheezy mail order college

Don't kill the messenger! I'm just contributing the info I heard. Personally, I couldn't care less, FEDEX is simply not my goal.

Nope and not that I would recommend it, but you are welcome to hop on my ' 135 ' maintained MU-2 anytime, just PM me for the schedule, 5 legs, 6.5 a night through the Midwest:)

The stats I mentioned were based on 3 years at the Feeders as a 121 Capt. I know of 10 submitted resumes all meeting and in all cases exceeding the mainline hiring requirement, If I remember right the lowest time applicant had 4000 hours total ( apprx ) and the highest time was 10,000 hours ( apprx ), all had in excess of 1000 hours Turbine PIC part 121, but that was 3 years ago, no-one got called.
I did talk to a FedEx new hire at the time, he indicated his class average time was around 4000 hours total but 90 percent of his class were military, not sure if there's a connection.

Military and/or female is the key...I talk to several mainline guys every night and I have yet to meet a non-military pilot who is not a woman. I'm sure there are some but they are the exception and not the rule.
