How easy is it to commute with FedEx? Please explain the deal where they pay for a revenue ticket to get to work from your home base.

Very easy to commute and very commuter friendly company. The operation is 7 days/week now, with most major cities having 2 flights or more/day (some have quite a bit more than that!), and contractual provisions that allow for same duty time commute in to operate a trip with protection if the flight doesn't "go" (within certain limits).

By contract, we have no deadheads scheduled on company aircraft, so all are "commercial deadheads". If you choose to "deviate" from the scheduled deadhead, you are allowed to use up to the amount that ticket would have cost the company if you'd gone on schedule. If you have several deadheads in the month you can "pool" them as required. So, if you have some deadheads that you use more than the allotted amount, you can combine them with others that might use less (perhaps none if you have a deadhead from/to the city you're commuting from) to make it all work out.
