Was just wondering the status on the Fed X pilots and how long it will go if they do not get a contract. ie.."working under protest" like the UPS guys have been for what? Three years now....

First of all, it is FedEx. Never heard the term "working under protest". Not sure it even exists in the RLA. UPS is currently in mediation (correct me if I am wrong). FedEx is still in negotiations with the company. The contract has about 25 sections, so it is not something that can be done in a week or two. I don't know when UPS's contract expired, but ours expired exactly one year ago.

And they take three years.

Lawyers got boat payments too, ya know.

We'll still be meeting in the parking lot in Collierville in the summer of 2007.... (Yes, I was there. I didn't check email Tuesday. Damm, I'm smooth....)

Did you mean to post that in the "with you" thread? Are you a Captain too?

I like the Fed X variant. Sounds the same as FedEx. Kinda like Racer X from speedracer.

How long did you wait?

Actually some MEC dudes were there to break the news to us that hadn't heard.

Man, did my heart sink when I pulled in and saw 4 guys in uniform!

But later, I went to the AOC and saw how many guys in jeans were there, jumping home after the cancellation. LOTS of them....

The Family Awareness Committee folks were making phone calls on Tuesday - - I called a whole buncha folks myself.

Make sure your info is correct in the Family Awareness Online Database at

http://fdxfamily.alpa.org

  • Log on with your ALPA member number and password
  • Verify your Family Profile
  • Update any incorrect or missing information
  • Contact your Group Leader and ask him why he didn't call ya! :)
I believe you can set a separate password for this area so you can allow family members to access it.

(If you don't remember your ALPA member number or password, contact Terrance Gibbs at ALPA National (888-FLY-ALPA, ext. 4192 or [email protected])
