I work for a carrier that frequently goes into Bagram in Afg and saw a Fed Ex MD11 there the other day. Was that a one time charter or are they joining the party? For those who have not been, its a shame to see so many Ruskies carring our military freight in that part of the world.

Fedex head up one of the AMC consortiums. It is possible they sent one of their ships in there, Atlas are going in there as part of that team.

Just another plane on another ramp....

If you saw a FedEx plane on the ramp in Tehran then, that would be another story.

Any final word on the P-3 mishap there? I was letting down through about 20K ft when were told to go to our alternate.

What kind of pay overides do you guys get for flying into a war zone?

Buhaahahhaahaahhaaaahaaaaaaa.

Whats the question again?!?

BE very careful, they drug test in this industry.

We fly charters in there.

Working on Baghdad and Kabul too. We were about to start in there before when the DHL plane got shot.

Ain't that the truth. Since we do so much of it now (War zone flying), I am hoping hazard pay becomes a major issue in the next contract negotiations at our company.

LMAO, they wont discuss hazard pay until someone takes a dirt nap in country.

I personally like security briefings discussing SA-7 and FIM92 (manpads in general) radius of action and hot spots. "but its perfectly safe" "We make the finest aircraft in the world they can take a lot of abuse"
