Hi
What is the typical profile somebody needs to be hired as an FE?
Any minimum flight time? ( dont think so but just making sure),
Is the A and P license a must or just a plus?
thanks

It depends on where you want to get hired. Some airlines use PFEs (Professional Flight Engineers) that never intend to fly. In those cases the airline usually hires PFEs that also have A&P certs. Miami Air, Kalitta, ATI, etc... are airlines that use PFEs. Other airlines like UPS and FedEx hire pilots into the FE seat, but they are really looking at your flight time. You could try airlines like Arrow and Centurion to see if they are hiring SOs (pilot FEs). I'm not sure if they use PFEs or not. Worth a try I guess.
