Here's some news from FDX. Also, should be a bid out soon to increase MD-11/10 crews in MEM and ANC. Thought the poolies might like it... (No DC-10 excess either!)

Elbit lands FedEx deal HUD system
Elbit Systems Ltd. said Wednesday that its Enhanced Vision System (EVS) will be installed on FedEx Express.

The All Weather Window EVS will become standard equipment on the US-based freight carriers Boeing MD-10 and MD-11 and Airbus A300 and A310 aircraft .

The system uses an advanced InfraRed (IR) sensor which presents an image projected on any raster video capable of Heads Up Display (HUD) and Head Down Display, providing the pilot with a forward-looking images on the cockpit window.

The system further allows the pilot to view lights and other ground features such as runways, aircraft and buildings during low visibility conditions.

First certified in 2001, the All Weather Window EVS on the Gulfstream G-V business jet in partnership with Gulfstream Aerospace, the system is available as optional equipment on the Gulfstream G500, G-V, Gulfstream G400 G-IVSP, Gulfstream G300, and ultra-long-range G550 bussiness jets.

Where did you hear about the bid coming out? Last I heard, it wasn't going to happen until next year. I hope you are right and I'm wrong.
