No other freight company or airline made it....history will tell us FedEx got started initially as an "airline" carrying freight

CONGRATS TO FEDEX

I can tell you from firsthand experience that UPS, while much stronger financially, is not a friendly place to work.

Doesn't Continental usually make this list?

I don't understand how they determine the list. FedEx is a great place to work for if you are in upper level management, because your compensation has improved drastically over the past 5 years. The company is making billions and there is no profit sharing plan or employee stock purchase program. They are looking to get rid of all employee pension programs and if they had it there way would not pay a dime for any healthcare.

i think you have to look at the work force...so many are part time with benefits...they like that..but as far as profit sharing etc...they don't really care because they are short term employees..college kids etc..for them it's a pretty high paying job...9 or 10 an hour to throw boxes...but a smaller % of employees are in it for the long term...but i think this is a darn good flying job...need somethings fixed and a raise but for the most part pretty good...there is a stock purchase program..i am in it..no discount but you don't pay brokerage fees...

Maybe Fedex does a little "buttering up" to the writers to make sure they are on the list??

Maybe things are good in the Express side but FedEx Ground doesn't treat the employees all that well (compared to what i have heard about express plus they make more $). I'm an inbound package handler and work early AM's. We have no heat in my part of the terminal (i have had a soda freeze solid many times), In the summer it is 80+ with air flow only coming from open loading dock doors, we dont get work clothing supplied (as i have heard about express, but not a big deal to me), we have no sick days, no vacation, and the Tuition benefit, our only benefit, is a joke. Everyone at our terminal gets the rejection letters for some reason? (my app was just sent in *crossed fingers*)

I don't want to sound like a complainer but our terminal isn't a dream workplace nor probably to fedex standards. I've been there a year and its starting to wear me down.
