MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Shipping firm FedEx Corp. on Thursday reiterated its forecast for earnings of $1.40 to $1.50 per share in the fourth quarter ending May 31.

"FedEx continues to see steady economic growth across the United States and internationally," Frederick W. Smith, chairman, president and chief executive, said in a statement. "The overall strength of the economy, and in particular the strength in the manufacturing and wholesale sectors, should continue to benefit FedEx going forward."

Analysts surveyed by Thomson Financial currently estimate a profit of $1.48 per share on $7.84 billion in revenue. FedEx earned $1.33 per share and posted revenue of $7.04 billion in the year-ago period.

The company's shares rose 20 cents to $87.80 in premarket trading.

My math shows that an increase of $1.48 from $1.33 is more than an 11% increase for Fred and his share holders. I wonder why the pilots weren't offered 11%.

Was rappin' with some other FDX dudes in my unit. No point in talking about how much $$ Fred's making or what we deserve. My question: What's everyone gonna do with their retro pay??

Mine won't be much, but I think it'll be enough to snag me one o' those shiny Yachtmaster Rollies. I could do the responsible thing and pay off my Mastercard, but that's no fun.

What's teterboro? Is that a city? strip club? airport?

TEB=Airport north of EWR makes LGA look slow. Every GA plane in the world flys into TEB. Close to downtown
;)

Grew up in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ (insert your favorite Jersey joke here) (see below) and earned my Private License at the Teterboro Flight Academy in the early 80's. One of the busiest airports I've ever flown into/out of. Celebs, Business High Rollers, etc. prefer Teterboro over the NYC airports. Just a 20-30 minute limo ride to Manhattan...

Teterboro Airport Statistics

Teterboro Airport is located in the Boroughs of Teterboro, Moonachie, and Hasbrouck Heights in Bergen County, New Jersey. It is 12 miles from midtown Manhattan, via the George Washington Bridge or Lincoln Tunnel. Teterboro Airport is owned and operated by the Port Authority of NY/NJ.

There are 5 Fixed Based Operators (FBOs): Atlantic Aviation, First Aviation Services, Jet Aviation, Million Air, and Signature Flight Support.

There is a total of more than 5,000 employees, 1,200 of which are on-airport - 22 percent reside within a 5-mile radius of the airport, 62 percent within 10 miles and 94 percent who live within 15 miles.

Teterboro Airport serves as the primary receiving point for hearts and other human organs used for lifesaving transplant operations performed at medical centers throughout the Metropolitan Area.

Teterboro Airport consists of 827 acres: 90 acres for aircraft hangars, maintenance and office facilities, 408 acres for aeronautical use and 329 undeveloped acres.

The control tower was constructed on the east side of the airport by the FAA and went into operation on October 29, 1975.

Buildings: Nineteen hangars on the airport have a total area of approximately 412,000 square feet. Two large office buildings centrally located, one at 90 Moonachie Ave and the other on Fred Wheran Drive, which houses the Department of Homeland Security. Both buildings occupy a total area of 133,418 square feet. Additional office and shop space with a total area of 165,611 square feet. An operations building, maintenance facility and two fuel farms.

Runway's & Taxiways: The airport consists of a two-runway configuration: Runway 1-19 (North/South) is 7,000 feet long and Runway 6-24 (NE/SW) is 6,015 feet. The facility offers both visual non-precision and "all weather" precision landing capabilities. The airport is a 24-hour public use facility, although it adheres to a voluntary nightly curfew from 12:00 AM to 6:00 AM.

Runway 6-24 is 6,015 feet long and 150 feet wide, equipped with High Intensity Runway edge Lights (HIRL). Runway 6 approach has an Instrument Landing System (ILS) and a Medium Approach Lighting System-R (MALS-R). Runway 24 approach is equipped with both VASI (Visiual Approach Slope Indicator) and REIL (Runway End Indentification Lighting) systems. Runway 6-24 underwent complete overlay and grooving in 1987.

Runway 1-19 is 7,000 feet long and 150 feet wide, equipped with HIRL. Both runways 1 and 19 are equipped with REILS systems. Runway 1 approach is equipped with a VASI system. Runway 19 approach has an ILS. Runway 1-19 was overlaid and grooved in the summer of 2000, and included the installation of centerline and touchdown zone lighting. Runway 1 is the preferred runway for noise abatement procedures.

Taxiways - Approximately 4.2 miles of taxiways exists on the airport. Most are 60 feet wide and are equipped with centerline lighting systems.

Regulations: It is important to note that Teterboro Airport does not accommodate scheduled carrier operations due to its functional role as a general aviation reliever airport. To maintain its role in serving the region's small aircraft needs, the airport imposes weight restrictions that prohibit use of the airport by aircraft with operating weights in excess of 100,000 pounds. As a result, Teterboro's utilization is comprised of a broad range of general aviation aircraft.

Annual aircraft movements:
1980: 231,074
1985: 216,974
1990: 191,118
1995: 183,992
2000: 182,888
2001: 175,980
2002: 200,599

Ladies and Gentlemen: I hate to speak for others (or type for that matter), but I am going out on a limb here and suggesting that MAYBE what USNFDX was wondering about was this:

What is Mr. Smith doing in NY, who is he schmoosing and why?

I could be wrong, but that was my main thought when I read the original post about him being at TEB. Most of us have heard of the TEB airport.

I'm sure USNFDX will let me know if I am way off base.
