I did a search on how to obtain one and I filled the FCC 605 form. Is this all I need and is the fee still $50. I heard rumors it went up to $100. It' my understanding it lasts a lifetime.
 
Don't bother....

You don't need it. Don't wast your time and moeny. Quit succumbing to the different ways that bush wants you to fund his funny war.

True for operations within the U S. You will need it for international ops.
 
I just received my FCC licence the other day. I think you have the correct form, but I would recommend doing the online file system. The form you want is for the Restricted Radio Operators. The fee is still $50 and it will come in the post in a few days. It only took a week for it to reach me in England. I hope this helps.
