When looking at airlines requirements to apply, most say they require a FCC license. What is it and how do you get it? I was always under the impression that if you have a pilot certificate, you don't need one. However, I really have no idea. Can someone shed some light on this for me?

You need one for international ops.

It is a Restricted Radio Telephone operators permit.

It is a waste of 50 bucks and you get it at the FCC website. No test, just enter your credit card number correct and you will get it in the mail in a couple weeks.
