For comfort while waiting-
STP - St. Paul Downtown. Has a bigscreen TV, internet and that message chair. Also you never seem to be bothered by anyone there.

Are you talking Regent/Millionaire? Awesome place. Top quality management as well.

Yup!

Always nice that the Mocha and hot coca machine is up and running on those cold Minn. nights.

The one I saw was American. July 5 at about 9:00am local
Maybe Kobie chartered it for his legal team.

Santa Paula, CA.
<shudder> That brings back some baaaaad memories... There's an aerobatic box just east of there I used to use all the time...and had a couple of....well....let's just say problems...with some traffic out of SZP...

Any piece of concrete at least 13000 feet long, surrounded by plains, no wind, and no higher than 1000ft msl.

But that's not a real answer, of the cities we fly, the real answer is O'Hare. The controllers get the job done, and the runways are long. I could do without the winter w/x, but you can't have everything. I always enjoy the downwind, base and final for 27 when the skies are clear. Nothing like watching the windy city unfold below. Happening on a game at Wrigley is a bonus. BTW, officially I never look at anything outside besides traffic :)

For cities we don't fly, Austin Bergsrom International. There's live music in the terminal some nights, the terminal food is pretty darned good, the runways are long, taxi times are short, the controllers are decent (not current info), it's not far from the parking lot to my driveway and I pass a lot of good BBQ joints on the way to the barn.

For cities I'd like to fly to, (have but it's been a while), how about LUV? Once again, long pieces of concrete, short taxi's, good food in the area, and a certain airlines HQ!

About any airport you can call home. One poster mentioned Albert Whithead (sp?). That is a neat airport. Sits on the bay and 3 of the 4 approaches/departures take you over water. Cedar Keys, FL is unique.

Akron (NY) airport is neat in that you take a step back in time. Guys hanging out on a Saturday like an old coffee or barber shop. A nice mix of pilots.

About anyplace that has character with a good hangout spot.

It won't make many folks list, but I really enjoy flying into TEB. Seems every time we go there, it is night, and descending, with NYC straight ahead, is just an awesome sight.

I agree about MCD (mackinac island), except waiting for a horse drawn taxi seems to take forever. I think the turn to final at DAL (over the big D) is just an incredible sight.

However, my favorite airport is 4N0, because my house and hangar are there. It means I'm home. I think that's the favorite for lots of folks, home.

Y66

Drummond Island, where the golf carts have a path accross the primanry runway.

That's at the top of my most hated airport list. That's the only airport I've had to sit on the ground, in the run up area, for over 3 hours waiting for an IFR release. TEB sucks. I've probably been in there a couple hundred times, and the people seem to get ruder every time, and the delays are always terrible(especially if going over White).

VMC? Two Words...

Dalton Departure

That's all.
