Has anyone tried this..? I have a friend who does this at least once a month for around 9 days.

It has peaked my interest because she lost about 10 pounds during her week fast, plus the detoxification effects.

I'm not looking to do an intense 9 day fast, maybe a 2 day vegetable fast.

Haha, yeah that's right.. Today is my 90th day in a hotel.. It is taking a toll on me. I'm about 10 lbs heavier... I'm in Orlando now, almost done.. :)

I would recommend not fasting unless you research it first. Fasting is pretty tough, and I don't think it is necessary to cleanse and lose weight. Although, one popular fast is called the master cleanse. You drink a mixture of lemon juice, cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 5-7 days or more. Apparently, if done correctly, it can do all sorts of good things for you. I did it once, the mixture tastes good and curbs most of your hunger. Next to impossible to do unless you have some time off.
I pack this stuff with me on my trips: ultimatelife.com. It is a mix that you put into a fruit smoothie, it will cleanse you out quite well, and is full of high qual nutrients. Also, eating nothing but raw (preferably organic) fruits/veggies for a 3 or 5 days can help. It is super important that you know what you are doing, there is a lot of info on the internet. Anything you do is good. I heard from a doctor/cleansing expert that pilots are the most toxic people he has ever worked with.

I have researched it quite a bit. The main thing that peak my interest was the detoxifying effects.. A girl I know does the 9 day fast on syrup and some other stuff once a month, she tells me that her head is extremely clear during the fast and she feels absolutely great, during her fast.

'gangdev' do you do the daily health program from ultimatelife.com? or what?

Mr.I, yes ideally I should be eating healthy and exercising regularly, but I don't and I'm aware that is a big part of it..

I do not follow the website schedule entirely. When I am home, I tend to eat what is around, although I try to make my diet as healthy as I can. When on a 3 or 4 day trip, I pack the stuff I need to make two smoothies per day. It satisfies hunger for hours and provides your body with everything you need, and is very efficient with cleansing, which sounds like what you are looking for.

Ok, I see. Two smoothies a day, that keeps you going for the whole day? Do you eat anything else..? With my hunger, I'm wondering if that will be enough. How do you make a smoothie while on the road? Blender?

Which product are you using, because the site has quite a few, thanks...

Back in 2005 I did the Master Cleanse. I lost 22 pounds in 10 days and felt great. I was working out longer and harder than before and I still felt good.

Also, my memory got better and I started remembering my dreams which I hadn't done in years. It also cured a 5 year bout of chronic constipation that not even fiber and laxatives could fix. It has never returned.

I don't really like the taste of the "lemonade" and you have to do it for a minimum of 10 days, up to 40 days. It's very hard to stick to and most people don't do it correctly; you know it's complete when you stop waking up in the morning with a white film on your tongue. You should follow the instructions when breaking the fast to avoid harming your stomach. Also, be prepared for a nasty bout of the runs after you switch back to normal eating.

No, two smoothies a day is not enough, I still eat another meal. This is often when I "break the rules" and eat whatever is available to eat on the road (I try to choose healthier foods), or I just make a third smoothie. I also pack some raw nuts (such as almonds) in my flight kit so that I can get something quickly when I want to snack.
For the smoothies, I pack a stick blender in my bag (cuisinart makes a good heavy duty stick blender), along with a large cup (to fit the head of the blender into), and a ziplock bag of 8 or so scoops of the ultimate meal. For a typical 4 day trip I pack about 8 bananas and six apples.
It takes about 90 seconds to make the smoothie, and just a quick rinse afterwards in the sink, and you are done. It really works for me, and the ultimate meal really is a great product.
As for your question as to which product, I am talking about the main product that comes in a 10 scoop or 30 scoop can. The other products are supplementary, and I recommend trying them, although they are not necessary.
If you are really interested in buying a can, I recommend going to betterlife.com. They sell the ultimate meal for $54.00 a can, as compared to the normal retail price of $70. Let me know if you try it out!
By the way, I have not had any problems yet with taking the blender through security, and I have been using it since May of 06.
