flysher..... I wouldn't go around saying that a controller is upping the rvr for you........ and in your profile it states where you work... not a good idea for the company. Good Luck.

Just out of curiosity, why? If the controller can achieve a higher RVR on the runway thus allowing an airplane to shoot an approach then what's illegal about it?

:edit: I went back and read my other post and realized why that may look wrong. I implied that I asked the controller to "adjust" the RVR. I did not. Turning up the lights was actually suggested by him, after a request from me to use a runway that was below mins (that particular runway wasnt reported on the ATIS so i didnt know til he told me). For the record I declined.

End result was I was just a bit later getting in due to having to use another runway.
